Q: How safe is it to buy cars off ebay?
I never thought of buying a car off ebay. I was searching for a car part and then was scaning through cars for sale. What a deal! Problem is some of them almost sound too good to be true. I mean if the seller has 100% good feed back and they give history/details about the car and are willing to answer any questions, what can be the problem? Has anyone actually bought a car off ebay and were you happy with it? Can anyone give me tips on buying a car off ebay? Thanks!
A: You can get a good deal off of EBay, and you can have problems. Unless you are looking for a specialty vehicle, limit your choices to vehicles that are close enough to inspect prior to bidding. Go and look at the car that is being offered!!, If you are seriously interested in it, you may want to see if the seller will allow you to have your own mechanic check it out prior to bidding.
Do not expect a car to be perfect! The seller may try to describe the car well, but they (and pictures) can miss things. Ask a lot of questions and be sure you want the car before you bid!!!
Allow for the cost of getting the car home, and any inspections that may be required to register it!
Q: Does anybody know how I can get License to buy cars from auction in Texas?
I want to get a license that I would be using to buy cars from dealers auction ground and websites.
A: you need to get a dealer license. That means dealer surety bond, boackground check, dealer insurance, application, you need a lot with a sign and room to display cars. THEN you can apply.
But to be honest - if you dont know how to apply for a license, you are better off not getting into the business. ANyone who gets into the deaeler business needs to know the industry inside and out, or they will lose their shirt. Since you didnt know to check the most logical place - the DMV - for your license application, I doubt you are very knowledgable in the car business.
better to leave this until you get more experience in the car industry.
Q: Do Dems Realize Fewer People Buy Cars from ALMOST Bankrupt Companies Because Warranty May be Worthless?
Why does Dodd try to use the farce about people refusing to buy cars from a bankrupt car company.
If you buy a GM now, you take the chance that the company goes bankrupt and your warranty becomes worthless.
A: LOL! Didn't realize that. thanks!
I just have a gut feeling, that even with the bailout money, unless it is done what Letterman suggested (devote half of the car companies resources towards building fuel efficient vehicles) - we're just delaying the inevitable, in a 'very expensive way'!
Q: How many cars/trucks can a non dealer buy and sell in NC ?
I'm thinking of buying cars and trucks to fix up and sell to make some extra cash until we get back on our feet. I've herd people say that without auto dealer licance you can get in trouble with the law. My question is how many can you legely buy and sell in NC with out any trouble with the law? And what happends if you go over the limit?
Thanks
A: Most states have limits. I think mine is 4-6 per year per person.
BUT, and this is key, as a general rule, the state has no way of knowing how many you have sold.
Unless you are selling a BUNCH chances are you wont be caught and even if you are, most states are just going to want you to become a dealer.
I was a dealer for years. Then let my license expire.
I continued buying and selling for years, withOUT a license pretending that I was still a current dealer.
That said, I could no longer get in some of the bigger auctions and such.
And my title clerk never gave me a hard time about providing a real dealers number.
Your biggest issue would be the time it takes for a title come back to you. If it takes 4-6 weeks, you usually cant sell the car if you arent a dealer. If you are, that isnt a problem.
In my state, dealers, and especially dealers got in BIG trouble for ever selling a car with an open title.
So be careful about that. Thats where you could get caught.
Q: My friend refinanced his house to buy a pool and 2 cars. Under McCain's proposal does he get to keep them?
When house prices were skyrocketing in California, a lot of my friends refinanced to take equity out of their homes. They used the equity to buy cars, vacations, pools, etc. Now that house prices have fallen, however, they have 2 or more mortgages and are "underwater".
Obviously, there is no way to take back a vacation or a pool, but under r McCain's proposal to buy their bad mortgages and reduce the balances - will they get to keep their Beemers and Mercedes?
A: They have to prove they can't pay. I would like to know why I don't get a break. I pay my mortgage every month. I don't even have cable. Why don't I get a break?
Q: What do I need to buy cars at auctions?
I want to buy less then 5 cars a month. I own an auto body repair shop. I was told i need a dealers license but when I looked into it, the secretary of states office told me that i had to actually have a dealer in order to buy cars at an auction. I dont want to open a dealer, i just want to buy a couple of cars a month to keep my employees busy during slow times. Is there a different type of license to do this or any auctions where i dont need to have a dealer license that are open to the public. I live in Illinois.
A: Hi
You can get really good cheap cars from auctions , you will find thousands of different auction and repo cars of all kinds of models really cheap at http://www.carauctiondeals.com
Hope this helps

Q: once i have a wholesale dealers liscense were and how do i buy wholesale new cars?
once i have a wholesale dealers lisence were and how do i buy cars at wholesale prices?
and do i need a lot for a WHOLESALE lisence?
how and were do i buy wholesale priced cars with a wholesale dealrs liswnce and do i need a lot to get my WHOLESALE lisence to export cars to another country?
A: First - you cant buy "wholesale new" cars. New cars are sold from the franchise to the dealer, and no one else. Maybe your license and a good relationship with the GSM at the dealership will get you a strong deal, but that is about it.
If you are looking to buy and sell used cars, there are a couple of avenues. Look for the dealer auction in your area. Brasher's and Mannheim are the two largest with the most locations. But your city may have another auction service.
You can also buy used cars from the dealership's trade-in pool. Contact the used car manager at all dealerships, and ask when their wholesaler days are. Depending on the dealer, there may be a sealed bid auction, or just outright sales.
Q: Do you suppose the automakers analysts will stumble on the truth that people can't buy cars when broke?
The government can throw billions into bailing them out. But people can't buy cars when broke and unemployed period. Especially if there is no credit . Especially when there is no ceiling for how high things can keep going up that we have to have. And wise people won't buy in uncertain times.
A: masstex8 needs to get a life. If you don't like the question, do not answer. Don't be a jerk.
Q: How do you buy AUCTION CARS?
I want to buy a 2008 Mercedes c320 for as cheap as i can possibly get it, and i tried ebay auto trader and dealerships, but I want to find cheaper ways, and I heard of buying cars at auctions...but I was wondering, how do you do that?
A: All you have to do is bring your license and money with you to buy a car from an auction. Since you want a 2008 Mercedes you'll need at least $8,000 or more in cash because they don't finance.
Q: Why do we buy cars that vastly exceed the capability and ability for our roads.?
A prestige car costs bundles to buy ,run and legalise for on road use.
Why don't we just call a halt to this and deny the government its taxes from this excess or demand a fairer return for our ill advised investment.
More free parking, better roads, more realistic enforcement of highways legistlation, removal of draconian money grabbing enforcement proceedures.
There are severe limitations to its (the car) use and one is penalised at every turn.
A: It is very simple..........
Speed sells cars and the manufacturers dont care.................
