Q: How hard is it to replace a heater core in a 1999 chevy tahoe. for the front heat only?
Heater core in 1999 chevy tahoe went started leaking so I bypased it . Need heat I know you have to pull the dash I think lower the stearing colom is this true??

A: 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe 1999 HEATER SYSTEMS RWD Trucks & Vans - Except Tracker NOTE: On "C" and "K" series, heater core may be accessible without removing heater case. Remove passenger's side door sill plate and kick panel. Pull passenger's side of carpet back enough to access bolt at rear of heater case cover plate. If all heater case cover plate screws are accessible, begin procedure at step 3). Removal & Installation ("C" & "K" Series) 1. Disable air bag system. See AIR BAG SYSTEM SAFETY article in GENERAL INFORMATION. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove glove box by squeezing sides together. Remove 2 instrument panel retaining bolts from glove box opening. Remove center floor duct. Remove center support bolt. Remove Electronic Control Module (ECM) and tray. Remove both kick panels. Remove blower motor cover and blower motor. 2. Remove driver's lower instrument panel cover and knee bolster. Lower steering column. Remove instrument panel left and right pivot bolts located at lower corners of instrument panel. Remove 3 screws from defrost vent, near windshield. Disconnect any connectors and tilt instrument panel back far enough to access heater case. Remove coolant recovery reservoir from engine compartment. Drain engine coolant. Disconnect heater hoses at core. Remove bolts and nuts from engine compartment attaching heater case to vehicle. Remove heater case. 3. Remove 7 screws attaching heater case cover plate. Remove screws and bracket attaching core to case. See Fig. 6 . Remove heater core. To install, reverse removal procedure. Replace any seals. Fill cooling system. Start engine and check for leaks.

Q: How do i change the fuel pump on a 1999 Chevy Tahoe Four Door?
my tahoe wont start and i checked all the fuses and i checked the fuel filter. now i bought a cold start engine starter can of aerosol from autozone. and it runs off that but i wont fully turn over and run by itself.. so now my guess is that its the fuel pump that gave out.. any other suggestions?

A: Try a new fuel pump relay,If that don't work fuel pump is in gas tank.Will have to be removed to replace.

My 1999 Chevy Tahoe wont start it turns over and I can hear the fuel pump running. I have replaced the plugs and wires, I have spark. It will not start if I pour gas down the throttle body but I do have fuel coming I can see it in the throttle body. Any suggestions please?

A: Crank Sensor Cam Sensor Ignition Module. Can you find someone with a scanner to read codes. That might point you in the right direction.

A: If the starter solenoid is the click, then all the interlock switches are okay. Are the headlight & horn okay ?? If the starter is the only electrical thing not functioning, better start looking there.

Q: i have a 1999 chevy tahoe and my security light is on in the morning?
When I start my car in the morning there is a warning light that says "security" that comes on. It only does that when I first start the car. Does not come back on all day. What is this?

A: some voo doo eletronic thing...my 99 s 10 does it only its on all the time...covered it with black elect tape...all fixed!

A: It could be a skipped or broken timing chain. Run a compression test.

Q: can someone tell me what is wrong with my 1999 Chevy tahoe it has the 3rd the 5th and the 6th cylinder misfire?
it has low compression and useing an awful lot of gas thank you christine.

A: Sounds like it could be a head gasket problem. However, It sounds like it could be a fuel rail problem. I'm not positive but I think that the 3 5 and 6 cylinders are all on the same side. If that is true I would start be checking to see if you have a fuel delivery problem in the fuel rail on that side. No fuel could cause low compression on those cylinders. Hope that helps you.

Q: My 1999 chevy tahoe sputtered and died on me?
I was driving on the highway and truck engine started to sputter I pressed the gas harder and it heastated back off and it was fine under 50 mph then it died. I don't herre my fuel pump noise no more fuel pump or fuel relay fuse? How much for the parts?

A: sounds like the fuel pump, this one is in the tank. cost about 265.00 complete unit i think is the only way you can get it and change the fuel filter also. parts and labor should not be over 425.00 hope this helps.

Q: 1999 chevy tahoe Driver side front tire makes a rattling sound when hit bumps in road?
If I go down a dirt road it really rattles bad. U joint ? shocks need greese ???car was sitting for 1 year it is 4x4 also

A: take to a good mechanic and tell him to check the front brake pads. we work on cars for a living and we had one truck that had a rattle like that and some one put new brake pads on it they fit to louse so we welded them up and filed them to make fit properly. they probably came from china
