Q: 2000 chevy blazer engine the same as a 1998 chevy blazer engine?
I need an engine for my 1998 chevy blazer. A friend offered me their 2000 blazer engine. They got into an accident and have a new car now. Will it fit and is there any additional work that needs to be done? 10 points for the best answer! Thanks for your time!

A: It will be just fine, but to be sure use the intake off your old engine and make sure to mark all the wires so they will be easy to put back in place and I don't see a problem.

Q: How much will it cost to fix my a/c in 2000 Chevy Blazer?
My a/c has recently quit working on my 2000 Blazer. I had the thermostat or something like that fixed in March to fix my heater and now the a/c has quit? What could be wrong ? And how much is this going to cost me?

A: Well you need to have a set of ac gages . These gages will tell you the state of charge. If it just need a small amount freon then it will be cheep, but if it needs a complete recharge it could run into the hundreds. Thy must first find out if it does need a charge. If it does then thy need to find out where it leaked out, repair it then recharge it.

Q: What is a good system for a 2000 chevy blazer?
I have a 2000 blazer and I am looking into buying a system for it. I listen to music like the devil wears prada, underminded, chiodos, and i want it to be loud but i also listen to rap like lil wayne and tech9 and want it to bump. please help i don't know anything about car audio. and i want to spend no more than $350

A: This is right at $400 but it is the best bang for your buck. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_14671_Kicker+07DC122+%2B+Kicker+08ZX300.1.html This maybe a entry level sub package but it has enough bump to be pleased with. P.S. I got this package from a local car audio shop last year and paid this for it $279 for the subs and $199 for the amp.

Q: Problem with 4 wheel drive not engaging in 2000 Chevy Blazer?
I have a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer. The 4 wheel drive worked fine this last winter, but now the truck will not go into 4hi or 4 low. It has a push button switch. When I put the vehicle in neutral and hit the switch, it clicks over to 4WD, but then kicks back down into 2WD. I have tried every variation of putting it into 4WD that I can think of. What could be the problem?

A: i agree, look at the switch. it happened on a silverado i was going to buy, dealer said they would fix it, but i ended up buying a different truck anyways. ebay should sell switches for cheap, 10-20 bucks. replace that first and see if it works. if not, then look at the transfer case.

Q: how much would it cost to lift my 2000 chevy 4x4 blazer?
i want to lift my 2000 blazer up about 3 or so inches. Approximately how much would it cost to lift it and would i have to get bigger tires? i dont want mud tires though.

A: You can raise it all you want and you don't have to change tire size. Summit has a 4 inch lift for around $2.000

Q: 2000 Chevy Blazer acceleration problems?
I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer and it recently has been having acceleration issues. When I try to accelerate fast, it seems like the transmission is having problems shifting and I have to let off the gas then press the pedal again to get up to speed after 35mph. Also my check engine light just turned on. I filled up on Thursday night while the fuel delivery truck was filling the lines. Could this all be caused by some bad gasoline? Thanks in advance! Sorry forgot to add that it's an automatic. Thanks!

A: check your oil. There is somekind of safety switch on the oil system. If the oil is very low it will have those problems

Q: can you install a system in a 2000 chevy blazer?
my dad is buying me a chevy blazer and i was kinda bummed because it doesn't have a cd player. i wanted to know if anyone knows whethr or not u can install a system?

A: Yes, you can. Contact Crutchfield Radio at 1-888-955-6000 or www.crutchfield.com

Q: Does anyone have any idea why the gas gauge on my 2000 chevy blazer zr2 doesn't read accuratly?
We think it could be caused by either the sending unit or possibly the ground wiring, but really have no idea. I've researched online and noticed that other chevy blazer owners have had the same problem so it doesn't seem that uncommon at all. So if anyone is a possible mechanic or maybe just knows cars, your input would be great.

A: bad sending unit in the gas tank.

Q: Would fixing 4 wheel drive on 2000 Chevy Blazer help in snow?
I know it would, but I have an old Chevy Blazer that flat out cannot be driven in the snow because its rear wheel drive and fish tails everywhere when I drive in the snow. My 4 wheel drive doesn't work and I know its very expensive to fix. Would adding wait to the back (sandbags) work or is there any other options?? Thank you for your input. I live in Chicago so it snows here a lot!

A: Yes it will. However, I question the tires that are on your truck. Tires are more important than drivetrain or weight when it comes to getting grip in the snow. After all, that is what is gripping the snow. :) The 4WD on my 1998 Blazer does not work and I don't think it was working in winter last year either. I have a set of BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO on my truck that meet severe snow standards and the only time I really get stuck is when trying to go from a stop (only sometimes and I get going after 3-4 seconds) or when I'm trying to go from a stop on an icy patch (like my parking lot, which almost never gets any sunlight and is somewhat a downhill slope, so I gotta rock back and forth sometimes to get out). I can drive normal speeds otherwise going down the street (slow down in turns obviously). I also never fishtail unless I want my truck to fishtail. :) Because I make sure to control my throttle when going from a stop or turning from a stop. When I'm controlling my throttle, I find it very easy to predict what my truck is gonna do so I'm always in control on winter roads no matter how slick they are. I can tell if my tires are spinning when I'm turning so all I ever need to do is ease the steering wheel a little bit over to correct. I'd also like to point out that I live in Colorado and have about 6 years experience in driving in Colorado winters (including blizzard winter conditions on Colorado mountain passes, 3 years with the Blazer). Oh, and this 6 years experience was 6500 feet above sea level, deep in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. If you have a set of really good winter tires and know how to drive in the snow, you should be able to do fairly well in most street winter conditions with a RWD Blazer based on the experience with my RWD truck in Colorado winters. I don't have any real extra weight either. I have a 12" subwoofer in the back, a battery pack/jump starter in the back seat, some clothes, and small miscellaneous stuff, but that's it.

Q: 2000 Chevy Blazer: Can I use a type of infrared dye to check for leaks in the engine coolant system?
I am aware that the infrared dye can be used for AC systems, but was not sure if there is one for the radiator.

A: Your anti-freeze insn't clear(mines green for instance) and is under much much lower pressure then the A/C. So if your car is leaking anti-freeze you should already be able to see it. If its leaking in the engine, you should see a lot of white smoke from the tail pipe when you first start it up. A/C freon is clear and is a gas when it leaks out, thats why they add stuff to check for leaks.

Q: I have a 2000 chevy blazer lt It will not go into 4 wheel drive.what is causing this?
my blazer will not go in 4 wheel drive. once in a while it will work but 99% of time it does not. And when it doesnt work the vehicle hesitates when i accelerate. but when it works it runs perfect.

A: probably a vaccume line on the 4x4 acuator...front axle, near the top, common problem.....put it in a heated garage overnite and see if this helps first..it may just be froze. if ya live where its cold anyway. PS it runs like crap cause your losing vaccume because of a leak somewhere.......wanna guess where?

Q: How do I tell what gear ratio my 2000 chevy blazer has?
Is there an accurate way to tell what gear ratio it has without opening the differential? There is no tag attached to the cover bolts. Is there a code somewhere, or does the VIN tell what the ratio is? Thank You to anyone who can answer this for me.

A: in your glove box you should have a build sheet. the differential gear ratio is identified by the G codes you can go to this web site for more info http://www.c2e.info/rpocodes/gmrpocodesGthroughM.html hope this helps

A: You could have a bad relay, there under the hood and should be labeled low beam.
