Q: Would you read this story or am I wasting my time?
Hi all! This is just the first chapter of the book I'm writing (I have more but didn't wanna break your brain from just looking at this soooo...) let me just tell you now, IT IS NOT TWILIGHT! HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT ANY OF MY IDEA'S! this is all my own creative juices working here, enjoy! Chapter 1 Highway 97A on the Eastern Bank of the Shuswap River 10 miles north of Armstrong and 16 miles south east of Salmon Arm. These are the exact directions to for Enderby, British Columbia aka my new home. This is where my mother, Elise (apparently calling her mom is to old and motherly), has relocated herself and I to in the middle of my senior year for a new adventure. This is how she states it, but the real truth is that she wanted to leave the United States of America on a quest for love. Every since she got a Divorce from dad she has been on over drive searching for a man in her life. Town after town, state after state searching for the silver lining but she found none. So British Columbia was just another stop on the way. Maybe Elise is just upset that he left her rather then vise versa? All I know about the split was that dad got up one day from the breakfast table and left. No notes, no more phone calls, just a call from a his lawyer demanding. This all happened years ago when I was a baby so I don’t remember any of it and it doesn’t bother me in the least. Call me insensitive, but I never truly knew the man. I was too young to remember him and why should I waste time time crying over him when he means nothing to me. The only time dad ever even remotely comes into our lives are on holidays and for child support (which was totally unnecessary, because Elise’s parents, my grandparent, died in a car crash before I was born. Therefore Elise inherited millions from my grandparents accounting business which was what funded the “new adventures”, money was never an problem in this family but Elise felt kind of sort of bitter about the divorce so she intended to collect what was due.). Even then it’s a check once a month and a card or so on my birthday and on Christmas. Sometimes I think we would be better off without any contact at all, because when ever the checks or cards come Elise becomes a wreck. She becomes even more intent on her pursuit for that perfect person. She almost never gets past the first or second date though, when ever somebody even considers a date with her. You see, Elise is not somebody that is very dependable. Elise is more of a sister then a mother, she is beyond free spirited and has more energy and spunk then anybody (including her) knows what to do with. Elise is- “Charlotte. Charlotte Griffith?” Elise’s impatient voice erupted into my thoughts from the open cell phone that was placed on the dash “If you expect this to work you have to pay attention, now turn up here on the next dirt road.” “Kay, Elise.” I replied into the phone, this little experiment we where trying was the only way I could keep my most prized position. My big black 2008 Chevrolet Suburban. My SUV was the only think I actually appreciated from my dad. It was my 16th birthday gift. Moving our possession to Enderby wasn’t the hard part of the move it was getting my car there. Elise apparently didn’t feel comfortable having me drive the roughly 10,000 miles it was to get to Enderby in another car then her own so the entire time we have been connected by phones. Ugh. Constantly hearing Elise ramble about how great this will be. I repeat, Ugh. But thankfully this was going to be our last day of driving. In fact this dirt road we were currently turning onto was my new house’s drive. It was the middle of January so the sides of the thin rocky dirt road that was surrounded by dense forest cover, was neatly coated in a 6 or 7 inch deep layer of snow. Snow. Ugh. I miss the dry landscape of my sunshiny home in Coronado, California. I missed the all year summer. I missed the stiff water deprived grass. And most of all I missed the beach, and the waves. The cool water and the way it use to gently splash against me and my surf board was now was just going to have to be a fading in the back of my head. Cause for as far as I could see it was either forest or open valley. Not quite the conditions for surfing. Then right as I was about to fall into that deep dark pit of despair and homesickness, I saw the house coming into view. Well, I only had one thing to say. Wow. Elise sure knows how to pick ‘em. The house was magnificent. With it’s Victorian style build to the huge wrap around porch, there was not a single flaw with this house. I had to admit that it was a nicer house then the one we had in California (I hated to say that). Despite the look don’t touch factor, the snow was like a cherry on top of this beauty. I was awe struck for a couple of seconds before I had to slam on the breaks as not to hit Elise’s Volvo C30, the midget car of family

A: It's good. Deff needs some work here and there, but i would read it. just a tip or something, you should wait out describing elise's love life. give little parts of it throughout the whole story, so you just don't go "blah, here it all is". goooood luck :D

Q: Is 15 years for a human smuggler an appropriate sentence for crash that killed 10 immigrants?
A Mexican man has been sentenced to more than 15 years in prison over a fatal rollover that killed 10 undocumented immigrants. Authorities say Brian Guzman-Ochoa, 39, was at the wheel of an SUV crammed with immigrants in August 2008 when the vehicle jumped a wash before flipping outside Florence. U.S. District Judge Neil V. Wake sentenced Guzman-Ochoa to 188 months in federal prison Monday. The defendant pleaded guilty in April to one count of transportation of illegal aliens resulting in death. "This case exemplifies how dangerous, and at times deadly, human smuggling can become," U.S. Attorney Dennis K. Burke said in a written statement. "Smugglers commonly treat crossers as human cargo, and they will face the consequences." Court records show Guzman-Ochoa fell asleep at the wheel of a 2006 Chevrolet Suburban containing 19 people - all undocumented immigrants - in the early morning hours of Aug. 7, 2008. Authorities said the vehicle was traveling at 78 mph when it drove off Highway 79 near Florence, flipped and sailed about 60 feet before landing upside down. Seven men and two women died at the scene. Another man later died in a hospital. Documents show Guzman-Ochoa told authorities he and another man guided 17 people across the desert for three days and nights before entering the Suburban. Fatigue was likely a factor in the crash, but authorities said Guzman-Ochoa was also under the influence of marijuana. His arrest marked the 23rd time he was apprehended by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials since 1999. ICE records show that at least three of those arrests had been on suspicion of transporting illegal immigrants.http://www.azcentral.com/community/gilbert/articles/2009/09/22/20090922pc-sentence22-ON.html I think he should have got life or the death penalty

A: He should receive life for the smuggling, and the survivors deserve nothing. They hired the smugglers and put themselves in this situation, they should be prosecuted right along with the smugglers, they are just as guilty.

Q: Should repeat offender Hernandez’s immigration status & criminal record be mentioned in front of the jury?
Should repeat offender Hernandez’s immigration status and criminal record be mentioned in front of the jury or not ? Police and prosecutors say Hernandez, 25, who is in the country illegally and doesn’t have a license, slammed a Chevrolet Suburban into a pickup truck at East Mississippi Avenue and South Havana Street on Sept. 4, 2008, killing Patricia Guntharp, 49, of Centennial, and her passenger, Debra Serecky, 51, of Aurora. The impact sent both vehicles crashing into electrical boxes and a Baskin-Robbins ice cream shop, pulling 3-year-old Marten Kudlis out of the store and into the street. He later died. Hernandez fled the scene, police said, and was arrested later that night at his apartment in southeast Denver. Hernandez’s lawyers say it wasn’t Hernandez driving the SUV that night, but his cousin, Christian Hernandez. They say police latched on to a theory early on that Hernandez was alone in the car and therefore the driver, ignoring important evidence along the way. http://www.aurorasentinel.com/articles/2010/02/18/news/metro_aurora/doc4b7d70faaf9df989884472.txt

A: Yes the prosecutors should make sure to call him an illegal alien murderer, And no one would be dead if this illegal Alien were not present. How can anyone argue with that and to this day have never heard one. His status certainly does matter.

Q: this is some fu**ed up stuff... about jennifer hudson ... your opinions / thoughts?
Singer Jennifer Hudson's mom, brother found dead Oct. 25, 2008, 12:45 AM EST CHICAGO (AP) -- The mother and brother of Jennifer Hudson were found shot dead Friday at a South Side home, and police were looking for a missing child who is the nephew of the singer and Oscar-winning actress. "We can confirm that there is an ongoing investigation concerning the deaths of Jennifer Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson," Hudson's personal publicist, Lisa Kasteler, said in a statement. "No further comment will be made and the family has asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time." Police spokeswoman Monique Bond said the deaths appeared to be the result of domestic abuse. The Cook County medical examiner's office said autopsies for Donerson, 57, and Jason Hudson, 29, were pending. Police were talking to "a number of people in custody" on Friday night, said Bond, who declined to elaborate. Deputy Chief Joseph Patterson said a family member entered the home around 3 p.m. Friday, found a woman shot on the living room floor and left to notify authorities. Responding officers found a man shot in the bedroom, Patterson said. There was no sign of forced entry. Police tape blocked access to the large, white house, where a crowd gathered outside. Authorities issued an Amber Alert for 7-year-old Julian King and were seeking a 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban. The child was the grandson of the female victim, Patterson said. The alert said the child was possibly abducted and could be accompanied by a man named William Balfour — considered armed and dangerous — who was a suspect in the double homicide investigation. damn i'd be sooo broken up and crazy if this sh** happened to me.... your opinions thoughts people?.. damn man my heart goes out to jennifer hudson...

A: My jaw dropped when I heard what had happen. All I could think of was what must Jennifer be going through right now. She seems like such a down to earth person who genuinely loves what she does. She is at the peak of success, she is about to get married, and the holidays are right around the corner. It is going to be a tough time to go through. It is a very sad sad thing and my heart goes out to her and her family. I am praying that her nephew is returned safely to his family so that the situation doesn't get any worse than it already is.
