Looking for a website to order a repair manual for a 2008 Chevy HHR LT

A: Autozone usually has those.

Q: Can someone help My 2008 chevy hhr won't start?
the key will turn and the windows will roll up and down the lights work but for some reason it won't start? I have tried to put it in neutral, tried fideling with the steering wheel but still nothing? can someone please give me suggestions. Thanks

A: You did not give enough information. Most likely you have a defective battery or maybe you drained the battery by leaving something on electrically. Most of the newer vehicle though have a default in the system that will turn off a power drain after 15 minutes so you dont lose power in the battery. So maybe a starter is bad or an alternator. Either way you have 3 year 36 month or 5 year 50000 mile warrantee plus roadside assisstance, just call Gm to have the car towed in for service. good luck.......

Q: Is my Chevy Hhr Ls 2008 defective!!!?
i have a 2008 chevy hhr ls metallic blue yeah i know ugly car anyways about a month ago the 1 door would not open unless you clicked the remote 3 times. now 1 month later it happening to 3 doors!!and no its not the remote it has new batteries what should i do also i bought my car at Chevy brand new. not in the street i dont know if that matters is my car defective? should i go to the dealer where i got it from? thnks 10 points best answer!

A: it should be under warranty, take it to the dealer and find out if its under warranty, if not then take it to a good mechanic, if you changed the battery in the remote then you have to reset it, maybe you just need to reset the remote because when mine starts to get where i have to push it 2 or 3 times means the battery is about to die, so you probably just haven't reset the remote yet, on my chevy silverado you just hold the "lock" and "unlock" buttons together for a few seconds then its reset when you hear the locks, i don't know if you do the same for yours though

Q: I have a problem with my 2008 Chevy HHR?
We tried to add on an aftermarket alarm to my 2008 Chevy HHR, and we were having good luck until the alarm brain decided to smoke and fry. We ended up taking the few cords we had unhooked and hooked it up exactly the way we found it, because it started to smoke and we got frustrated and was going to try to fix it then try it again later. We went to start the car and nothing happened. IT WON'T KICK OVER! We rechecked all of the cords and everything, and nothing seemed as if it was unhooked. We went around back and tried to open the electronic hatch, and the hatch won't open up. We checked all the fuses for a broken one, and nothing was found. Both the fuses in front and the ones on the passenger side. We haven't tried to jump the battery, that is our next step, but do you guys have any ideas as to what could be the problem/possible solution?

A: There is a good chance you have done damage to the body control modul which controls all electric circuits and the security system. You will need to have the dealers service fix this problem. The bad part is this will not be covered under factory warranty seance it was caused by a aftermarket installation.Best of luck.

Q: i traded in a 2007 dodge Caliber for a 2008 chevy HHR and i changed my mind and i want my dodge Caliber back.?
i want to see if i can get my car back and how much time do i have

A: There is no specified time, even if the dealer wanted to go back on a signed contract. That car may have been sold, or wholesaled to another dealer. Talk to them, see if they want to work with you.

Q: Having an issue with power locks on 2008 Chevy HHR,help?
Ok my husband has the above stated car and we've been having issues with the power lock and key fob for awhile now. Sometime you press the unlock button and nothing happens, and then when you try to put the key in the lock and unlock it manually it won't turn. The lock hasn't been messed with nothings been broken off in the lock either. It sometimes takes my husband 10-20 minutes to unlock his doors simply because none of the buttons on the key fob will respond and the door won't open by manually unlocking with a key either. It also has remote start BTW and that is an issue because if you remote start the car it locks itself after it starts and then you can't get it to unlock by remote or key after that either. What is going on? We have a 5 yr warranty with the dealership we bought it through, should i call them? As of right now my husband can't get in his car period, it won't unlock by the key fob and if he inserts the key in the door it won't even turn. Whats going on? Oh and we can't try another door because the drivers side door is the only one with a keyhole to unlock by hand.I have a locksmith on call that i've used before but if anyone has any less expensive advice for right now til we can get it to the dealership i'd appreciate it. Thanks. Oh also i understand that the battery in the fob may be low but that still doesn't explain why we can't manually unlock the door with the actual key.

A: Please take your HHR to your local chevy dealership. There have been a number of issues with the door lock system. We also have two bulletins out on this problem. When you get your HHR back everything will work correctly.Best of luck.

Q: Where can I get a 2008 Chevy Malibu for $500 down in Georgia? Help...I need a car asap?
Im 21 years old & my car recently broke down (2006 chevy hhr) so I need another car asap. I've been driving a rental car & its too pricey for me. I only have $500 to put down & alot of dealerships in GA want about $1500-2500 down! I dont have that kind of money sitting around. I can afford the car payments, but I do have other bills to pay so Im not able to save that much money. does anyone know where I can get a 2008 chevy malibu for a good price for only $500 down? please help?

A: What broke down on the HHR? It would be much cheaper to get your car repaired rather than buy a whole new car. Depending on what the problem is, it might even be covered under your factory warranty. If you no longer want the HHR and that's the reason you're looking into the Malibu, trade it in or sell it. Use the trade in money or the money you make from the private sale to use as a deposit on the new Malibu.

Q: Any other HHR users have people hit them while parked?
In the past year...I have had 3 people hit my 2008 Chevy HHR while I have been in the store. All 3..ran off. Only 1 has been caught so far because a good Samaritan wrote down the person's license number for us while the guy sped off. Second time happened 2 weeks ago while I had my cat in the Vet (no witnesses) and the other just last night..sadly security cameras couldn't catch it. Are HHR's that hard to see..or am I having bad luck?

A: You're just having (really) bad luck.

Q: How long is my car under warranty?
I have a 2008 Chevy hhr and they say its under warranty but i dont know how long for? anyone

A: The standard factory warranty for Chevrolet is 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. That date or mileage starts from the day the car was first purchased new.

Q: The oil life in my car reads 67% when should I change my oil?
I have a 2008 Chevy hhr and I was wondering if I should change it according to the oil life or the every 3000 mile thing

A: With the Additives and other refinements in oil, you do not need to worry about it. I have been driving for over 45 years, and Owned and Operated my own 18 Wheeler cross country for over 33 years. I use Shell Rotella T 15w-40w oil that you can buy at Wal-Mart, and it is in my 18 wheeler and my cars. My Trucks engine is a Caterpillar and the oil change interval that Caterpillar recommends is 15,000 miles. I do not even bother to change my cars oils until I have at least 5,000 miles on them, but would not worry about going longer.

Q: Scion XB Vs a Chevy HHR which is a better car?
hey, i want a car that is small, and get's good gas mileage, but has a lot of room in it, since i am a tall guy and i need some extra cargo room as well. This has led me to cars like the PT cruiser and such, i was looking at them all, and i think i have narrowed it down to a Scion XB or a Chevy HHR. Since i am basically car retarded i was wondering if anyone had any info on which car is better, or if you have a better vehicle in mind. i cant afford brand new models, so i am talking about a little bit older ones, like 2005-2008 year. any help is appreciated.

A: I had a Scion tC which is mechanically the same as the 2nd gen xB. The mileage wasn't good for a small car with a 4 cylinder (about 28 on the highway). Mine had numerous engine problems which were all covered under warranty but left me with a rental car for 1-2 weeks at a time at least once a year. I traded it for a Chevy Cobalt which is mechanically the same as the HHR. The mileage is better (about 31). The interior isn't as nice. But its had no problems. I'd get the Chevy. Neither is assembled in the US but the Chevy was designed here so you would be supporting American jobs. The Chevy has far more US parts also.

Q: I have a new car and it shakes when I brake. What's wrong?
I have a 2008 Chevy HHR. I really doubt that it's the rotors. The car only have 20,000 miles. What could it be?

A: At 20K miles, it definitely can be the rotors. I don't know if they are covered under warranty, but take the car back to the dealer and see if they can cover it. The rotors will probably have to be turned (resurfaced) to remove the vibration.
