I have to see exactly how much people actually know about these two rivals, I want to know your opinion in a detailed matter, about who actually would win. 1.) Quarter Mile Race 2.) Top Speed Run 3.) Suspension 4.) High Speed Cones 5.) 0-60mph 6.) Braking 7.) More Bang for your buck 8.) Simply Pure Looks I just need to see Chevy v.s. Ford fans have at her. A: The Mustang couldn't hold a candle to it anywhere but the looks, which is objective. The 'Vette would leave it crying and emasculated.

Q: Who else thinks the Chevy Corvette ZR-1 is overhyped?
I think best car car out now would be the Hennessy Nissan GTR or the 2009 Dodge Viper ACR. ACR is not a tuning company. It's a package like SRT. What happens then, when the ZR-1 goes head to head with the Viper ACr around the Nur? Go to youtube.com

A: I still prefer the original 1990 ZR1 Corvette with it's Quad cam Mercury motor and no supercharger ! "The LT5 is an all aluminum 349CID/5.7 Liter 32 Valve piece of engineering that has yet to be matched anywhere on earth. The motors are right at 400HP with a near 7000RPM red line, but have more reliability and endurance over any high performance engine ever produced in this country to date. The ZR1 is known for its top speed endurance record, where the car went at speeds over 175MPH, non stop, for 24 hours. There are NO American cars that can do this except the ZR1 to date! The ZR1 truly is a race car on the street and has the endurance to go from coast to coast as fast as possible without breaking, if there were no speed limits. The LT5 was so radical, that GM could not even produce it their selves. It was partially designed by Lotus, but was actually hand build by the Mercury Marine Company in Stillwater Oklahoma... A totally off the wall move by GM, never again done. Though the motor has not been produced again due to its unheard of actual cost to GM, the research behind it was used in other revolutionary engines, such as the Northstar Cadillac Engine. A high HP version of the Northstar is rumored to power the Corvette one day with even more power than the LT5. It probably will not have the reliability though."

A: One thing: How much are YOU willing to pay? Cause quite frankly even with the major depreciation on the American vehicles you're going to have a hard time affording them. From memory http://www.kbb.com has a depreciation evaluator for most new cars. Some things to clear up though: Fisker Karma is a prototype. It's also not likely available in America except via import which is going to cost you more than moving to Europe and buying one there. The Nissan GT-R is going to cost you heaps in consumables, not to mention the 20 grand to fix the transmission which WILL, not IF, WILL rip itself apart. The Cadillac Converj and Chevy Volt are ALSO prototypes. OK about the rest of the cars: The 2003 Audi TT would be relatively cheap now. It was replaced last year by an updated and facelifted model. This also goes for the BMW Z4, Porsche Boxster, Dodge Viper, Cadillac XLR, Shelby Mustang and the Dodge Charger. Given the poor resale value of American vehicles (and especially since GM is 100 billion dollars in debt, and that is not an exaggeration), the Solstice and its close, slightly-different-looking counterpart the Saturn Sky would be quite cheap as well. http://www.kbb.com would have all the info necessary for depreciation on new vehicles so look at that. This is a generic evaluation I've done on the older vehicles using KBB, with a mileage of 25,000 and all the standard features equipped. This is also based on the standard trim: 2004 Dodge Charger: N/A (incorrect year I'm assuming, it wasn't on the database) No 2005 Shelby Mustang either. A 2005 Mustang would start at $13,290. Q: Are the new Mustangs faster or slower?
The ones like Rousch, GT, Shelby 500 GT, or the new Black Jack Mustang. Can either of these Mustangs outrun 2009 Corvette (Fastest Corvette there is), 2009 Chevy Camaro, 2009 Dodge Challanger and Charger (with the HEMI)?

A: Well you have to consider the ZR1 vette costing around 150,000. The Super Snake is 75,000. You get what you pay for. The new Camaro will run good but being the first year don't expect to see too many actually doing any good. The roush pushes 445hp, to the tires around 415-420. The gt, well that's a little baby that will have 315. About 285 to the tire. The black Jack if im not mistaken is just a blacked out roush. Get a regular GT, put in the regular bolt ons like an intake, full exhaust, motion charge plates, with a drive shaft, cam and 4.10 gears and you will do pretty good. Lower control arms and pulleys you will be able to run low 12s high 11s with good track tires.

Q: Which is better Chevy v.s. Ford? and Why?
Which is better Chevy v.s. Ford? I want a real reason why too, no laziness! If you want the best answer, take time for this. I am a Chevy guy, I will go with Chevy, or any other GM vehicle, because their resale value is more than Ford, and No Ford car is faster than a 2009 ZR-1 Corvette, and because Chevy trucks will run forever. Now your turn!

A: buy BMW because car people always say bad stuff about other cars but not BMW because they have nothing wrong with them.

Q: Is there anything wrong with the 1985-1989 corvettes?
I recently purchased Auto Trader Classics Corvette & Chevy [July 2009 issue] and they had a High/Low values of 1953-1989 Corvettes [p. 27] and it appears that the 1985-1989 years have the lowest price in the low range category. Is there a 'reason' for this [in terms of known problems] for these year/make/models of Corvettes? P.S. - I am worried that like Jaguars of 'old' there were certain issues related to certain years of makes/models of Jaguars.

A: It is all a matter of opinion. They are not enough to be antiques, in plentiful supply (remember supply and demand) and not new enough to share in the latest technologies. I certainly think they are good buys for someone looking to build a hot rod. They ride fine to me and look great. But everyone has an opinion.

A: Yeah it's the car. Here there is an old guy, fat, and unattractive in general that gets all the young beautiful chicks. It's the car, they chicks want the car and tolerate the dude to get to ride in it.
