Q: What mileage does a 96 Dodge 2500 Cummins get while hauling a heavy load?
My 96 dodge pick up usually gets 21-23mpg, with out pulling any thing. Any one know what it gets while pulling heavy loads?
Would be hauling 2 to 3 cars on an open car hauler. Toltal of 18,000lbs or less including trailer. Thanks for your answer, the wieght you haul is not too far off.
A: if its running right you,ll average about 12-14 maybe more with it,we use one to go to the car sale with and it gets about 14 hauling two cars,and that's running about 65 miles an hour with it,but it never drops below that,and that's a constant mileage also,our trailer is little heavier then most though,for us its cheaper to bring them back than to pay to have them brought back,good luck.
Q: How do I get my 1986 dodge ram heater fans to work?
I recently bought a 1986 dodge ram from a private own that rebuilds old cars and trucks. It's in pretty good condition. When I test drove it the heater worked fine. A month later I finally bought the truck and when I tried the heaters the fans didn't work. I can get the defrost to work a little but not very good.
A: There's a resister pack on the back of the switch, which determines the fan speed - sounds like it's gone south. Can get a new one at most car parts stores....

A: i think the dodge nitro. i dont really know thou. but its just my opinion since it kinda looks like the durango. not sure why they eliminated it i figured mainly gas mileage. but the nitro gas sucks to. so who knows maybe they just wanted to change the name and get some new hype on a new name. durango has been around for a while now

A: Well let me first off start by saying GOOD LUCK with the sueing part of it.. And the Abritration cause let me tell you they claim to work to help the consumer, but that is a crock of yayaya.. trust me my parents went thru this a few years back.. And they didn't help them at all..

My tow truck driver managed to get it to start by holding some part of the carb open while it was started but I am unable to duplicate this, Can anyone help?
A: Hold the throttle wide open and open the choke flap on top of the carb. The easiest way to do this alone would be to remove the air cleaner, open the little flappy thing on top of the carb. Place a large screwdriver or tool into the orifice to hold it open. Then get in the car and crank the engine while holding the gas pedal to the floor.
This is the procedure for starting a flooded engine. Holding these 2 flaps open (choke and throttle) provides maximum air to the engine to dry out excess fuel.
You see in fact the "gas" pedal is really an "air" pedal lol
Have the carb rebuilt or at least change the fuel filter and stop messing around with it.

A: Well If your eclipse is a RS or a GS it should as both The Eclipse n the Neon have the same 420A Engine n tranni......in my understanding, if ur Neon has a 420A engine...it should work

Q: My Dodge truck picks up a bad vibration when on rough highway?
I have a 1994 Dodge 1500 that runs fine, however when at highway speeds, if I hit a rough patch of road, it picks up a very bad vibration. It feels like a tire going down. However all of the tires are fine, and if I pull over, it goes away. It runs fine at speed if the road is smooth, but on rough highway, this problem shows up. I'm sure its in the suspention, but don't know if its most likly a spring or shock or something else. Any info would help.
A: the steering linkage starts to oscillate, and the steering damper is not stopping it. get your whole front end checked out for worn parts. any worn part can cause these problems.

I cannot locate a fuel pump (fuel tank) modular for a 1988 dodge w-100 pickup anywhere at this point. The pump is available and the fuel level sensing unit also.

Q: What causes an engine on a 1998 Dodge Stratus to misfire while it's running?
I have a1998 Dodge Stratus with a check engine light. I don't quite know what the trouble code is because I haven't gotten it check out yet. The car is okay in park but when i put it in drive or reverse the engine starts running rough and misfiring and the steering wheel shakes violently. Is this one of the symptoms of a bad O2 sensor or Spark Plug Problems?
A: it could be a bad 0-2 sensor or a bad set of plugs in it will even cause that to happen,when the plugs get so many miles on them the gap gets to far apart and causes a miss-fire in it under a load,have the computer scanned on it and id change the plugs in it also,any time you get a miss-fire code the plugs is the first thing you check,90 % of the time thats the main cause of one miss-firing,good luck with it.

I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse 95 and my interior is pretty bad. Recently I went to a junkyard to look for the interior of my car that includes (dashboard, the 2 front seats and the back seat). I did not find another Eclipse but instead I found a car that said Dodge in the back of it and had the same interior has my Eclipse. ***Note: It only had dodge in the back of it therefore I do not know what car is it. I would like to know which car is it.
A: What you saw was the Dodge Avenger. The dashboard is similar with the Eagle Talon and Mitsubishi Eclipse. They were all built in the same plant in Normal, Illinois. They were also built in the same platform. If you can get hold of the parts of the car you saw, you're clear to buy'em if you want. I am sure that the cars have the same dashboard 'coz I have a '95 Eclipse and my friend from work has the '95 Avenger.

I had a 03 dodge 1500 hemi that has a factory anti-theft system, but it was stolen and I remotely turn it on. Why does it say anti-theft when it was stolen with any sign of breakage?
A: jsut getting a key made will not let tehm steal it. the key has to be programmed with a chrysler scan tool to start the truck. tehy could have gotten a key made to get into teh truck, but they still couldn't drive it.
Q: How to power down or reset a dodge radio/CD changer, CD is stuck?
I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus with radio/4 disc CD changer. I have 3 CD's in the player that won't come eject. I tried to disconnect the battery termial to power down the radio, but it didn't do it. Any idea's on how to power the radio down or getting the CD's out?
