Q: Is car insurance much cheaper if you have a old car?
I want to buy a 1968 dodge charger and I heard that if it's like 25 years or older car insurance is real cheap is this true

A: Do you plan on carrying collision insurance on it? For a car that old, unless it has collectible value, I would only carry liability, medical, and any other insurance to pay for any car I might hit, but not pay for collision. It it is a collectible, you'll need to get an appraisal and insure it for that amount. It should be cheaper than driving a new car but you also have to factor in driving record, years of experience, and whether or not you've made an accident claim in the 6 years or so.

Q: My Charger '68 doesn't have any side markers, should I be worried?
I just bought a Dodge Charger 1968 with a 383engine , it has everything except the interior, so I'm planning on doing a modern look with old school power. I love the car but it doesn't have the side markers, the guy I bought it from doesn't know why so I figure the person who owned the car before him covered them up for some weird reason. I'm thinking about cutting holes where the marker should go. My question is, where can I find the measurements for the markers' holes and where exactly do they go? Is it a good idea? Or for some strange random reason did my Charger leave the factory this way?

A: if you,ll look on the back side of the fender you,ll probably see where the old ones use to be,back years ago people use to weld over those to cover them up to make the car look slicker down the side, but now that everyone is buying them to restore it creates a few problems when you try to relocate the holes for them, they was small round ones and looked really good, good luck.

Q: 1968 cougar or 68 dodge coronet?
i have a 1968 cougar with the Original motor in it.. but it needs to be restored. but before i make a commitment to this car or any other classic car i want it to be worth the effort.. what would you restore? would you keep the 68 cougar and fic it up or buy another old car like a 1968 coronet or charger? i love the old dodges. . or maybe a chevelle ..what would you do if you where me? its my one shot .. the wife will allow me to do one project look at the big brain on dalton... good point... its not about pleasing others.. its about what i want..

A: You don't tell us what your Cougar is - is it a base model? XR7? Does it have the GT package? Is it a GT-E? What about the engine? Base was the 289 or 302, I think, but then it goes up to the 390, 427 (GT-E-only), or 428CJ (any model including GT-E . . . yeah, it can get complicated). Another good thing about the Cougar is that it's related to the Mustang, which has repro parts up the wazoo, so some items aren't as hard to find as could be for other cars. Coronet parts are not easy to find, but they're cool cars - find a Coronet Deluxe coupe and drop in a 383 (VERY rare with this engine; chances are you'll find a 318 car) and go beat up on Camaros. Chargers are priced out of sight in comparison . . . and Chevelles are a dime a dozen, although the cost of fixing it up may be the cheapest of the bunch.

Q: mopar fans need help!?
hey i have been a long time mopar fan but i just can't seem to figure out why in the A B and E i think C too bodies of the 60's and 70's, why does plymouth always have an inch shorter wheelbase than dodge. i.e. 1968 dodge charger 117 inch wheelbase while its cousin 1968 plymouth road runner has 116 inch wheelbase?

A: economics. The Plymouth was the cheaper Crysler product.

Q: Which will use more fuel, a 2.4CC/L or a 5.7CC/L?
Im 16 and am into mopar cars. I will be learning to drive next summer and and am thinking about buying a 1968-74 Dodge charger, and redoing it etc which i am learning to do. Atm we currently only have a BMW 324i series which has 2496cc or a 2.4l engine. The dodge charger engines as far as i know are 5700cc or 5.7l engines. My parents are worried about the upkeep of the car, as the chargers are classic and therfore upkeep would be a lot right? Well my question is this would a BMW from 2002 with a 2.4l engine cost more to maintain and run on a regualr basis than a 1968-1974 dodge charger? Im trying to convince my parents that it wont, so any answers are good answers thanks!

A: the V8 in the charger will use considerably more gas than the BMW. (probably 10-13 mpg vs 20-25mpg) replacement parts for the BMW will be more expensive. Have an insurance agent quote you a policy for these vehicles, unless you find a charger in show quality condition, you are probably going to pay more for the coverage on the BMW. However, a teenager in a muscle car might carry a high price tag as well.

Q: Hemi Engine Information!!!?
So I've been looking online and I have been seeing all of these Hemi Engines I have never imagined. So can someone tell me everything about the Pro Stock 500 cu inch Hemi's, the 528, the 472, and the 426. I want to know everything from Horsepower to gas mileage to any stories on how well they drive. Plus, will the 528 or the 472 fit in a 1968-70 Dodge Charger or Dart?

A: Most of those are all 426 hemi variants , just bored and stroked. I have a Keith Black 500 cid hemi motor and on Alcohol it's 1800 HP runs about 1600 HP on AV gas and 1400 HP on pump gas. all these are running blowers . Naturally aspirated can run 500/600HP easy. MPG depends on carb/tranny and weight of car

Q: what are your favorite classic cars?
My favorites 1964 - 70 Ford Mustangs 1959 - 68 Chevrolet Corvettes 1968 - 70 Dodge Chargers 1950's - 1970's Chevrolet Pickups 1940's - 1970's Cadillacs 1964 / 65 Pontiac GTO Volkswagon Beetles ( the old ones ) Volkswagon Karmann Ghia ( 1960's / 1970's ) Porsche 911 / 944 ( late 60's / mid 80's ) Chevy Coupes ( 1930's - 1950's ) I'm not sure if I like Chevy Impalas. Aren't they Hip-Hop cars ? I think low riders look stupid. No offense to those who like them. I also dislike Honda Civics with those spinning things on the hub caps. I think those look retarded. And I hate any car that has that wing on the back of the trunk. And I hate any car that vibrates !

Q: Will God supply me with these rewards while I'm in Heaven?
Will God supply me with these rewards while I'm in Heaven? A mansion overlooking the sea A cabin in the forest lots of nice clothes lots of nice stereo equipment lots of nice furniture a big jacuzzi in the bathroom lots of hard rock/metal LP's lots of hard rock/metal t-shirts lots of toy railroad locomotives and freight cars me having various autographs from all of the famous celebrities a 4 wheeler a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum a 1968 Cadillac Sedan Deville a 1973 Lincoln Continental Town Car a 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby a brand new Infiniti M-Series a brand new Cadillac Escalade Also will I get to have all of the friends I want and do lots of fun and exciting things with all of my loved ones (family, friends, acquaintences) and meet lots of new people while we're all in Heaven? Also will there be lots of great food to eat and will the food I'll be eating in Heaven be better than eating your favorite meals at your favorite restaurants?

A: Your rewards in Heaven will be determined according to the works that you do here on earth. Some people will get everything they could have ever dreamed of, others will get much less. It all depends on how well you lived your life in the eyes of Christ at judgment. Heaven shouldnt be thought of in the same strain as material possessions. Material things will be irrelevant. Those of us that go to Heaven will already have our reward - to live in paradise in close proximity to our Lord and to have a very close personal relationship with Him. That is the reward that you should look to in Heaven - not the possible things that He might give you once you get there.
