Q: 2006 Ford F150 or a 2006 Dodge 1500 truck?
Anyone have any preference? Both with crew cab. 2wd. Would it be a good everyday "car"? Are the rear seats comfortable? How's the gas mileage for you? Same as an Expedition?

A: Dodge has always been third place when it comes to trucks or car... wonders why they going out of business many woul dthink that since they have not made a great car or truck in 40 yrs maybe and fords been number one since ford made the first one id get a chevy really none of them have a back seat thats comfortable unless your in the front seat

sometimes my engine will be running and out of nowhere it will shut off and wont start for hours. a friend said this was vapor lock and that I have to wait for the engine to cool before it will start. what causes this and how can i fix it???
A: If shutting down, it may be setting a code... have it checked as some have a habit of doing this if the engine computer is bad or the throttle body is bad.

when i put it in 4x4 the light comes on in high and low and the rear transfer case locks in but the front is not engaging so the front wheels wont spin at all when its in 4x4 WHAT COULD CAUSE THIS?
A: goes in 4x4, listen for ratchet noise, if none, might have broken vacuum lines to hubs, if you hear ratchet noise, synchronizer on back of spindle needs to be changed

Lights were left on on my 2006 ford f150 so i charged it up and now the engine light wont go out. it is not the bat light but the engine light. it has 43000 miles on it and has always run fine
A: Get it scanned and find out what the code is. Most auto parts stores do this for free on 96 and newer vehicles. It probably set a low voltage code. Good luck.

A few times it has, so is there a control to set for that, ? ,,no book to look at.
A: Both asnwers are correct. There is a timer for the radio, and it will either stay on until timed out, or the driver's door is opened. Just the way Ford has it set up.....

Q: Igniton killswitch (smartloc) problems on ford f150?
I have a 2006 ford f150 that came with a igntion killswitch. Anyway, the otherday i was 30 min from home and needed back quick. unfortuantly , i had a dead battery in my remote for this smartloc antitheft thing. Well the dealer left the old relay or whatever in my truck glovebox so i removed that one and put in the orig. truck started up and made it home. well now i want to use the remote on my truck , but i cannot find how i am supposed to program the unit. I have 2 remotes for it, both are 2 button, one small button one large , and i dont know what the steps are to reprogram the remotes. Has anyone had any experance at a dealership with this? can someone please tell me the steps to program this? thanks!
Im sorry but that process is not for the smartloc feature. that is for the unlock/lock remotes. the smartloc is on a seperate remote and its only job is to arm/disarm the ignition. thanks anyway

i got an offer for a red chevy silverado, 2003 that had about 20,000 miles on it, it was nice and all, the price was around $22,000. this was at a preowned dealership. at a new ford truck dealership i got an offer for a 2006 Ford F150 with around 5,000 miles only a little more on the tag, $25,000. i came out with the same amount down payment and around the same amount monthly payment...which would you have taken? the thing about this was that since i have kinda shaky credit, the first salesman was trying to get me financed like really hard, but i left his dealership with an "i'll call you later with the results" so while i was waiting i decided to go to this dealership that i had heard alot about, in no time at all i chose the truck i wanted, financed it and while it was being washed and waxed about 6hrs. later salesman #1 calls and says he finally got me approved, to which i answered nevermind i already bought a truck, what would you have done, gone for the better deal like i did?
i felt bad afterwards for salesman #1 being as how they earn theyre paycheck by commission. but a good deal is a good deal right? dont get me wrong, the salesman at the ford dealership sold the heck out of that truck, and he earned that sale too, i just left salesman #1 with the impression that i was going to buy a truck from him....a question i ask myself is "what the hell took him so long?"
A: check the kelly blue book and see what the vechicles are worth . thats kbb.com .then you need to see what the intrest rate of each vechile loan is and what the bottom line will be at payoff.also if you are trading in make sure that you check the kbb on your trade in is . you can use this for leverage when dealing at the table.also check out what kind of warranty for each .check to see if you can tranfer the factory waranty for the ford

I want to get my 2006 f150 down in the dirt. I need 6 inches in the front and need 9 inches in the back. And if I can avoid it, I don't want to bag it. Belt Tech makes 3.5 / 5" drop. I also want to keep all the aligment correct.
A: The problem you'll probably run into is nobody will make a kit then what you stated about belltech. It would take alot of custom suspension fab work to get it that low. I'd try searching a chat forum about lowering fords.
