A: For a 2WD model with the 5 speed manual, it's 16 city / 22 highway. With the 5 speed automatic it's 15 city 20 highway.
For a 4WD model it's 15 city / 20 highway with the manual, and 14 city / 19 highway with the automatic
Q: will it change the sound of my 2008 ford ranger 3.0 sport if i just add a magnaflow muffler ?
if i replace the stock muffler with one magna flow muffler will it sound alot deeper? and witch magnaflow muffler would be the best and deepest sound for my 2008 ford ranger 3.0 sport?
A: yes it will. any time you change the muffler it will make a deeper tone for you truck. As far as which one that is to each his own. you can check youtube for different videos of magnaflo but the only true way to find is to hear it in person. also you should check out their website. I myself had a 1994 ranger with the 3.0 and I had the cherrybomb extreme and loved it. good luck to you

A: iv got an 04, the lug pattern is 5x4.5 ive managed to slap on some 20s with a 245/55/20 tire, thats about 30 inches i think. i can probably go a tire size up without rubbing but i dont think i can go a rim size up without rubbing. if you get anything bigger than 20 inches you will need some really low profile tires. if i were you, i would get a 15 inch rim with some 31 inch tires, thats what i plan on doing, unless you like the street truck look

A: I just bought a used 2002 Ford Ranger xlt. It is very nice, I have the 3.0 V6. Mine gets about 20/25 MPH. the truck has not change much over the years. I would def. get the truck. If you do not decide to go for it, whatever you do, do not buy a Chevy s10 or anything similar. My friend has had one and it was broken down almost every weekend. as for the Ford, it has plenty of power, i really like how it looks. The speakers are nice. The seats in the back look small but they actually are quite roomy. The bed is decent, it can hold a lot. You will get a lot of miles on The truck, mine has 52k on it right now and no problems. I have friends that have over 200k on them and they run fine.
Q: Does anyone know where I can get a suspension lift for my 2008 Ford Ranger 4x4?
I keep hearing from different truck accessory stores that they are not made yet. I just want a 3" lift so that I can put 33" tires on and maybe go offroading.

A: If they don't make the rim to fit a Ranger then the only thing you can do is get adapters. They are pretty cheap and almost any auto parts store can order them for you. I say pick a different rim as I am against adapters.

A: mokume is only partially right. The "Edge" name has been replaced by the "Sport" name for 2008. So, only if it's a "Sport" Ranger it will have torsion bar suspension. XLT, XL, base models will not have it.

Got a 2008 Ford Ranger FX OFF ROAD 4X4 24,000 km CV boots gone for second time Ford will not warranty because drive on gravel and mud. Can't just replace boots have to replace whole shafts @ $800.00 each plus labour. Anybody else having problems with these boots and know of anyway of getting Ford to honor their warranty on this FX OFF ROAD !!!!! (By the way never been off road just alot of gravel)
Yes mud and gravel is tearing the boots but this is a 4X4 FX OFF ROAD!!! Not ford escort!!!
A: What is the damage to the boots? Are they getting torn by some foreign material (such as gravel or mud packing up in there)?
If so, they shouldn't have to warranty the problem (it's abuse.) The only boots I've replaced wore out where the "bellows" meet from flexing all the time.
An independent shop could replace each shaft for probably $150 to $200 U.S. parts and labor with a remanufactured shaft.

A: Definitely get a suspension lift if you can afford it. They look much better than the body lifts, and don't cause excessive wear on parts like the cheap body lifts do.
I would recommend Superlift. We had a 6" Superlift suspension lift on our 97 F350 crew cab, and never had a bit of problem with it. Rough Country is also pretty good, and a little cheaper than the Superlift.
