Q: Is it possible to convert a '70 mustang coupe into a fastback?
I just got one coupe at a fair price, but I would simply adore it if I could turn it into a fastback.
A: First of all anything is Possible if you have enough money the Question is, Is it worth the Money. and in this case you could go buy you a Fastback for Cheaper so.... Just enjoy what you have :D
Q: are the suspention parts on a 70 mustang the same as on the 70 torino?
i have a 1970 torino and i was wondering if hi performance suspention parts for a 1970 mustang will bolt right on?
A: No the 1970 Torino was the same as the 1969/70 Falcon.
Q: I have a 70 mustang and I have a problem with my fuel sending unit and / gauge.?
I can fill the car with gas and the gauge hardly moves if at all. Sometimes it will move to half and drop to empty. Do you guys /gals think it could be a bad sender in the tank ? With the price of gas changing everytime I blink my eyes, I need to get that under control fairly quickly. HELP :) Thanx
A: 70 MUSTANG YOU GO!!
Q: Why is the 1960-70 mustang called a pony car?
I always thought it was a muscle car like all the others
A: Since the MUSTANG (pony) was the first, all the others caught on as a class of cars, like the compact, sub-compact and full size. Remember back then there were not that many sizes out there.
Q: Can you fit a v10 in a 70 mustang boss or fastback?
If not a boss or fastback capable of reaching 180+ mph
A: whoa whoa! do not ruin the american muslce tradition by throwing a useless v10 into a mustang. if you want speed, and speed fast your answer is simple. a 03/04 cobra motor, supercharged 430 ponies. 0-160 < top speed on stock ) is 20 seconds. add a exhaust, pulleys, cai, tune. you will reach over 500 hp and do 170/80 easy.
are you planning on getting the viper v10? you'll spend more money on that than half what it will cost to install a cobra motor.
Q: What is the best type or year of muscle car to buy (preferably a later 60's or early 70's Camaro or Mustang!)?
what is the best type of camaro or mustang that looks badass and isnt to terrible on gas? i need a muscle that is pretty reliable and easy to fix up ,so any recomendations?
A: among the best are:
-late 60's camaro, ss396
-early 70's camaros ss427 & z28's
-68 firebirdHO
-early 70's firebird trans am
-late 60's pontiac gto
-any early dodge or plymouth product with the hemi 426 (hemi cuda for example)
-late 60's olds 442
-late 60's mustangs offerred various performance editions
.390cu in (optional in hi perf gt's)
.428 & 429 cu in engines (cobra jets & shelbys) producing plus 335hp
-early 70's mustangs had the boss & mach1's with big power
all of these cars are the best example of that generation of muscle.
they are expensive to maintain, expensive to run and therefore if you are on a budget and looking for reliability & good gas mileage for daily driving, suggest you stay away from this generation of muscle cars and move up to much cheaper to buy & maintain - late model 90's mustang gt....easy to upgrade in terms of power, dependable, and quite reliable.
Q: Should I look at purchasing an older or new Mustang?
What are the pros and cons of a 1966-70 Mustang vs a 2005-10 Mustang? I don't mean things like interior or technology but engine wise and what not.
A: i would definately go with a classic. they are very, very easy to work on and can produce large amounts of just raw horsepower if tuned and built properly. plus they get more attention and dont blend in with everything else. dont see too many anymore.
Q: what car resemble a 69 or 70 fast back mustang? I want a car that looks identical to the fastback!?
apparently its hard to find them
A: the 68 69 torino fastback is very similar to the mustang so is the mercury montego of the same year
Q: why does my 91 mustang vibrate really bad wen doin 70 mphs or around 3000 rpms?
i got a 91 mustang 5.0 with 3.73 gears...wen i get on the interstate and get up to about 2700 rpms it starts to vibrate bad.. i can really feal it in da shifter and hear it in the car
A: Could be tires out of balance, worn u-joints, or drive shaft out of balance.
But since you feel it in the shifter I'd bet it is the u-joints or the drive shaft
Replace the U-Joints first. If it still dose it have the shaft checked.

Q: 70 mustang won't start. Please help?
302 v8 2bbl; I just moved to AK from TX. I've never had any problems with my mustang before. Back in Dec. I took it for a drive like normal. I pulled up into the driveway, and it sounded and felt perfectly normal when I turned it off. The next morning it wouldn't start, and it hasn't started since then. The starter is working, the battery is charged, and it has gas. Obviously the starter relay is working or the starter wouldn't be turning. I've checked the mechanical fuel pump and the fuel filter. They are both working. I've also checked the firing order and replaced the distributor cap and rotor. I've looked everywhere for a loose ground and can't seem to find one. My brother in law suggested timing, but I've been told it's pretty rare to jump timing so bad that the car won't start unless the chain breaks. BTW, I just realised that I haven't checked the timing chain. If it's not that, I've been thinking distributor coil or carb. Any car lovers with any ideas? Thanks
A: I've had similar problems with my 66 and 71. California had an additive that would cause the rubber tip on the needle valve that is controlled by the float to stick. Car wouldn't start. I would remove the filter and poke a paper clip into the carb to loosen the needle -- worked. I finally replaced the needles with steel.
You can pop the top of the carb off pretty easy and check your needle valve and float work correctly. Try starting your car after that.
Q: im looking for a 1969-70 mustang mach 1 in california for no more than $17k.?
ive been looking all over the place and they are either overpriced on random websites, or they are on ebay. i dont really mind ebay, but id rather avoid it. any good places to look? and no....i looked at a couple mags and they only show me stuff nationwide, not california.
A: Look in Auto-Trader magazine or website, or look in craigslist.
Q: Battery problems with '70 Mustang?
The battery in my car is fairly new. I hooked cables up to the stang and another vehicle to charge the battery. After about 7 minutes i started up my car and let it run for a bit. After this i drove it about a quarter mile and back. I turned the car off and tried to start it immediately afterwards, the battery was clearly dead. I have no ideas, please give me some.
A: first clean the cables with a post cleaning tool, then charge the battery and then test the system..
