Q: What Should i do to my 1971 Ford mustang 351 Mach 1 to increase its performance and speed?
I got my 71 Mach, 2 days ago and the car is beautiful the exterior is in great condition, the interior needs some touch up but im trying to keep the car as original as possible. What i really want to do is increase the speed of this car though, i was thinking headers does anyone else have any suggestion for what i should do to the engine to help this beast become beastlier!

A: 1 5/8 -- 1 3/4 inch long tube headers 2 1/2 -- 3 inch pipes free flowing air cleaner with quality filter maybe K&N or similar upgrade the ignition system Pertronix electronic conversion in stock distributor (will look stock) quality plugs and wires / E3 plugs / MSD 8.5mm wires these are basic bolt ons for performance

Q: Which year of the Ford Mustang Fastback had the longest sloping rear window?
Im trying to figure out which year had the longest rear window. Which year would that be? 1969? 1970? 71? 72? Etc, etc. All help is greatly appreciated.

A: The actual length of the window itself is nearly identical from 69 through 73. The 69 and 70 roof has a little steeper angle to it.

A: Im on my 3rd Mustang and i love it. The only problem ive ever had is with my last one. Some idiot ran a red light and totaled my car out. Other than that, no problems. Go for it!

Okay I need some help, I'm looking at a 71 mach 1 and they want 5800 for it, its in decent shape, but needs work. So I went on ebay motors to see what kind of shape the cars are in and the prices vary from 4000-40000. What are the factors? mileage, condition, is one of the years more desirable then the others?

A: sounds good if there's not much rust, that's a deal killer. Mach I and fastbacks are worth the most. they it's the engine, the bigger the better..

I will tell you why: It's because the government owns GM now. They want you to buy our vehicles. Why are people freaking out about Toyota? Of the ten largest auto recalls of all time eight were GM vehicles. They're trying to scare you into purchasing GMs. Think about all of the commercials they're pushing. Hear one on the radio the other day "I JUST TRADED IN MY TOYOTA FOR A CHEVY MALIBU, I FEEL SO SAFE!!!" No. No. No. No. You couldn't pay me to drive an American vehicle. Ford 1987 (3.6 million vehicles): Engine-compartment fires caused by faulty fuel-line connectors compelled Ford to issue this recall in 1987. While not the biggest in terms of vehicle numbers, this recall may be the widest: affected vehicles included virtually every model Ford made, including F150-350 trucks, and all Lincoln and Mercury models. GM 2004 (3.6 million vehicles): From 1999 to 2004, tailgating took on a new dimension for the 134 customers who suffered minor accidents from collapsing tailgates. Corroded cables were the culprits. In 2004, GM offered to replace the tailgate cables on Silverados, Sierras, Escalades, and Avalanches. In their defense, it should be noted that customers are clearly warned not to stand on open tailgates. At least 134 have not read that part of the owner’s manual. And though few drivers were even wearing seatbelts back then, Ford did the right thing and issued the recall. A: You are probably right My original thought was "since when is the federal govt involved in car recalls" All of the auto makers have had recalls and the feds don't get involved like they have on this one. Our whole political system is a mess & full of corruption. P

I'm 71 1/2, and a proud owner of Ford products for over 26 years...the last two times I tried to buy a Ford vehicle at our local dealer, I was pressured to buy a Lincoln instead(the stupid sales manager just wouldn't take "NO" for an answer, and was truly STUPID to the umpteenth degree!)...the manager insisted I buy a Lincoln to "cement" my social status with my fellow seniors, as well as mainly to appease the advertising agency handling their account... Why are the advertising agencies trying to reinforce this stupid(and socially correct) stereotype on us seniors?... Thanks from Pauline(proud owner of an '84 Mustang LX, '93 Escort LX wagon, '98 Ranger XLT, and currently a '07 Escape XLT!)... Gee whiz, JJ, I'm going against the "norm", eh?...LIVE WITH IT! I HATE Lincoln, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, INfiniti, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Maybach...well, you get the message...I LOVE FORD!...so there! Well, we seniors(and the AARP) need to teach the carmakers AND sales managers that we are NOT stupid, and THEY don't know what a Studebaker is! BTW, I forgot to mention that I live in a 63-year-old, 990-square-foot house(completely paid off since 1971!...NO mortgage!), with a garage that can accomodate a small Chevy Chevette or Ford Escape...but nothing bigger than that!...
