Q: How long will a 95 Honda Accord with 247,000 miles on it last?
It's pretty high mileage, but I know Hondas are known for lasting a long time. It doesn't have any major problems. I'm just looking for something that will last four or five years before I can get a better vehicle. I'm also planning on driving it very very far. So would a 95 Honda Accord EX Sedan with 247000 miles on it be worth it to me?

A: Four or five years sounds about right. If it made it 247K miles it has probably been taken care of, but you definitely need to know when the timing belt was last replaced. You can't take the seller's word for it - if he doesn't have a receipt you will have to get the belt (and water pump, to ward off evil spirits) replaced. Otherwise you will never know when to do that critical thing. Not to worry you, but if the igniter has not been replaced it is near the end of its life expectancy. A new one is about $200 plus an hour or so labor (use only genuine Honda) and keep the other as an emergency spare. Replacing it now will save you a tow. I would bet you wouldn't make it 5 years with the original. Ditto with the main relay (see source). It's cheaper but if it hasn't failed yet it was just waiting for you to buy the car.

Q: How much would it cost to replace a clutch in a Honda Accord?
My niece just bought a Honda Accord 1996 and it needs a new clutch, My friend who works on cars said he would do it for $600 including parts. She has a friend who said he will do it for $150 parts included. I don't trust her friend. So my question is....is $600 too much to pay an experienced mechanic replace the clutch?

A: hi, i just had to do a clutch in my car. I have a few questions, are u just buying the clutch disc or the clutch kit. the kit comes with everything clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, alignment tool. if its the clutch disc then it will be cheap like $50, $60 bucks, the kit is a little more expensive like $150-$200 bucks maybe $125 if ur lucky. now thats on a stock clutch kit. but proformace clutch kit which is what i bought is like $250-$500 i paid $350. But, now lets get to the point $150 sounds like hes buying the stock clutch kit and putting it in with no extra cost meaning free labor. Now the other guy for $600 sounds like hes buying the stock clutch kit and $300 for labor. Now replacing the clutch is not very hard but it take alot time to do. Because you have to take the transmission out and pull the clutch out and replace it with ur new one. But if ur low on cash and the guy can do it for $150 that will be ur best bet, but on the other hand he might not install it correctly and u might run into problem later down the road so ask if he had on clutches before. hopefully this help sorry about the long story. good luck with your car.

Q: How much would it cost too replace the front bumper of a Honda Accord?
One day while backing up from the parking lot, I hit a Honda Accord but there's a slight dent and some scratches, and i was wondering how much it would cost? They said it was going to be $800! But i don't know if thats too much to just replace the front bumper?

A: Yeah these people are looking at dealer pricing and the labor to install it. You need them to get another quote. The bumper itself shouldn't cost $800 unless it's brand spankin new model. And if you were backing out of a parking spot I'm pretty sure the law will say that it was their fault for not yielding. I'd get a lawyer or take it to small claims court.

Q: Why is it no other manufacturers can reproduce the quality of the Honda inverter generators?
Why is it no other manufacturers can reproduce the quality of the Honda inverter generators? I wouldn't think the inverter technology is patentable, yet nobody else seems to be building these hot little sellers. Does anyone else know of a good quality "true" competitor in this market? The models I'm speaking of are like the EU2000i.

A: "I wouldn't think the inverter technology is patentable" Why not? I would think it is both patentable and patented. My guess would be that many generator manufactures are competing on price, and may not think the cost of the technology is worth it, since people who want quality are going to go with a well know brand, and those who want cheap will go with cheap, the middle ground may not be a big market. But actually, a quick internet search shows a lot of inverter generators out there.

Q: What brand and weight of oil should I use in my 2007 Honda Shadow 750 Spirit?
What brand and weight of oil should I use in my 2007 Honda Shadow 750 Spirit? Also, how many quarts does it take? Is there any other maintenance I should perform when I do the oil change?

A: I agree, use the dealer recommended weight and grade of oil in your bike, though the brand is up to you. As long as your brand of choice meets the grade & weight specifications, it's OK to use. I would change the filter with each oil change as well, though sometimes they say every other. Do the oil change "hot" so more of the crud comes out when you drain the oil and it flows out better. Be careful not to over or under fill with fresh oil, bikes are sensitive to that.

Q: How much do Honda plant machinists make on average?
We have a new Honda plant coming to Indiana and my husband is thinking of applying. Does anyone work for Honda in the machine shop division (he's a CNC programmer with 17 years experience) and if so, can we ask an AVERAGE (without prying too much) pay? Thanks!

A: I work at the honda plant in Ohuio as a CNC and also cross trained in set- up and dies . MY pay is pretty much public record - $28.13 plus benefits and retirement ,medical , etc etc . All the overtime you can handle also . Good company to work for too .

Q: Can i get lights for my honda accord 1991 that are as bright as Prius lights?
I have a honda and it needs new lights badly so instead of wasting mly money on crappy lights i might as well get good bright ones.

A: It's definitely possible. You will have to find a good light conversion kit. Here's one i found with just a quick google search. http://store.racer-union.com/HID-Conversion-Kit/9006/XTUNE-1990-1993-HONDA-p5504430.html Im not sure how good that kit is but something along those lines is what you need. Though first i'd just check the stock lights on the car. new bulbs tend to be quite a bit brighter than old bulbs also the headlight lens gets dirty and less clear and this effects brightness. If i remember right my 90 Honda accords lights where not that dim. they held there own against other cars. To clean the head light lens scrub it with a mixure of baking soda and water.

Q: Where can I find an inexpensive Honda motor?
Where can I find a motor for my 1994 Honda Civic Hatchback? Ebay showed few results, and Id like to see if there are any more options. Local salvage yards have not been very successful either.

A: check out this web site for all you engine and trany needs. www.gspeedcorp.com. they import engines for Honda, Nissan, Toyota, etc from japan. they are located in Torrance, Ca.

Q: How much Diesel fuel can a Honda Accord take and still work?
Accidently put 9L of diesel into my Honda Accord yesterday which takes regular gas. Its tank is a total of 55L so right now the tank is full of about 17% diesel fuel. Worked fine today. Will it be okay tomorrow or should I take it in? Don't have to much extra spending money.

A: i would drain the tank and refill it with fresh gas, burning all that diesel in the fuel will probably burn out your catalytic converter and foul your spark plugs. you could probably remedy this situation yourself,by siphoning out as much fuel as you can and replacing it with fresh gas.i would take it in as soon as possible. have a nice day(:

Q: How much does it cost to fix the shift linkage in a 1992 Honda Accord?
My 1992 Honda Accord needs the shift linkage fixed. A friend said it shouldn't cost too much, so I was just wondering if anyone out there knew around how much it should cost. I'm really tight on money and desperately need my car back and I'm not looking to scammed by anyone. So I want to know about how much it should cost before I go around looking for a mechanic.

A: On a 92 Accord its not bad at all...labor shouldn't be too much, but the parts could run about 100 dollars or so worse case, depending on exactly where the problem is...it could be something as simple as a 50 cent pint that came out. ( Happened to me on my VW Passat) If I had to guess at a worst case cost...$170

Q: Does Honda have a after market low fuel sensor for motorcycles?
I have a 2006 Honda Shadow Sabre 1100. It does not have a low fuel sensor on it. I have seeing many other bikes with this option. Where can I find the equipment to install one on my bike?

A: i think those are actually a loophole for bikes that don't have the right amount of reserve capacity that law requires. my 1100 has one but my 650 doesn't. i don't think any of my other bikes had one either. fuel gauges are for sissies in my opinion. i reset the clock to 0 every time i fuel up all the way and keep track of my miles that way. one of my bikes i can regularly get to within .1 or .2 gallons of my full capacity because i know how many miles it can handle on a tank with certain types of driving.

Q: What's the difference between the eg hg or ej Honda civics ex?
ibhav a Honda 1994 Honda ciivc and when I'm shopping online foe parts it says it will fit the eg's even though I selected the right model and year. will they fit?my first vin.# are 2hgej. What do these mean?

A: EG/ HG/ EJ are chasis codes... EG is 1992-1995 hatchbacks EJ is 1996-2000 sedans never heard of HG tho. many parts are interchangable on honda cars (honda/ acura). they share many of the same motors and many parts are motor specific. so it is not uncommon to find an aftermarket part that will work on a few different models.

Q: My honda's rear left wheel is making a tin-like noise when I drive slowly over bumps in the road. What is wrong?
It only happens with bumps or uneven surfaces. I have checked under the car but don't notice anything loose or hanging. Its a 99 honda civic.

A: your shock absorber is more than likely grinding on something break housing for example

Q: How to tell if the airbag of Honda accord has been deployed?
Hi, I want to buy a honda accord 1995. It was in an accident. How can you tell if the airbag has been replaced and still working?

A: More than likely you wont. Airbag control modules are replaced when an airbag is deployed because the manufacturer does not want to take the chance that the arming sensors inside of it are not broken. If the airbag light comes on and stays on, then the system is not working.

Q: How to get the seat of a Honda CBF Motorbike?
My dad's just bought a Honda CBF and the instruction manual is under the seat but we don't know how to get to it because we need the instruction manual to know what to do? Help me?

A: The owners manual is under the pillion seat. Use the ignition key to unlatch the lock at the rear of the seat, then lift the rear of the pillion seat up and the front of it is held on by hooks. The main seat is held on by bolts. You remove those bolts and then slide the seat backwards if you were to have a reason to remove it.
