Q: Can I install two 6x9 speakers on the deck that is used to hide the trunk in a 1993 Honda Civic hatchback?
I have a 1993 Honda civic DC hatchback and I would like to install two 6x9 speakers in my car. Since I do not have speakers in the rear, I would like to cut a hole in the thing used to hide the things you have in your trunk. It's like a thin rear deck. I was just wondering if it was enough solid and would not rattle. And if I can't, where could I put them? I really want 4 speakers in my car. Thank you

A: That's a terrible idea. Speakers need a solid and rattle free baffle to mount to. Crutchfield lists 6 1/2" speakers in the doors and 5 1/4" speakers in the rear side panels as the factory sizes. If your Civic doesn't have speakers in the rear side panels then there probably is a speaker hole behind each rear panel. You'd have to remove the panels and make the cutouts. You may also have to run the wire for each side or it may already be there. Don't use 6"x9" speakers. Use 5 1/4" speakers in the rear in order to maintain the bass image up front. Using the bigger 6"x9" will drag the image to the rear of the car. Good luck.

Q: Should I buy a 1993 Honda Civic Hatchback?
I found a 1993 Honda Civic Hatchback for sale at $1700. It has 230,000 miles on it, but the owner claims it has been meticulously taken car of by replacing many parts under the hood that usually go bad after reaching such high mileage. I'm a college student that drives mostly on the highway and in need of a car with great gas mileage, which it has. And the exterior seems to be in okay shape for the year. He is asking $1700 but is willing to negotiate. Any advice on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

A: i managed to get a 93 civic sedan with only 55k on hte stock motor and trans, for only 2000. i love how people think their hondas are made of gold or something. keep looking you can find one with half the miles for maybe 2500 and the person willing to negotiate... just remeber no matter the asking price cash talks

Q: 1993 Honda civic. I accidentally lost carbon point spring during rotor button replacement now I get no fire?
I replace the cap, rotor button and wires. accidentally dropped the small spring.what exactly does this spring do. It sits in the shaft next to the rotor button inside the distributor and bounces against the cap when the rotor spins. Why am I not getting fire?

A: That spring actually makes electrical contact between the rotor's main post and the coilpack. You MUST have it or you will not get a spark. If it is totally lost, you might get another one from an auto parts store, or you can try to get one from a junk yard

Q: I have a 1993 honda civic with a bad oxygen sensor low voltage?
I want to change it but don't know if there more then the 1 that's near the header.oxygen sensor low voltage is what the computer said when my friend hooked it up.I would like to know if anyone knows which sensor that is and where is located.

A: I know that if you have the D15Z1 V-tec engine then the O2 sensor is on the header and should be 5 wires. red, yellow, orange, black, and white. I just had to replace the o2 sensor on my 92 Civic Hatch after doing a mini swap and putting new headers on it.

Q: What Cold air intake system do you Recommend for my 1993 honda civic ex coupe?
Stock engine 1.6L Manual. (Price is kinda a problem i cant spend over 300$ on the intake system) I don't want a short ram intake. I want the filter down in the fender please! I'm also looking for an exhaust system as well but i don't want a loud muffler. Any advice? Prices? I'm new if you cant tell... This is my first car and i want to remember it =)!

A: quite simple, AEM or Injen CAI intakes are the best but these may be pushing the price a little.. if you really wanted to save money you could build your own CAI if you have enough time, hit up clarke rubber and buy some tubing that will fit onto the existing pipe nicely and get some brackets and make your own CAI its pretty much almost as good but without the brand name on it :) hope this was a help, i too have my first car and its a honda aswell! :D Integra

Q: Will 1995 Acura Integra leather seats fit into my 1993 Honda Civic Si Coupe?
Also, Do you know of any leather seats that will fit in the civic. the integra is a 4 door

A: The front seats will fit. You could also get your seats re-upholstered if you wanted. Overall, you have probably the most-modified car on the road. If you want parts for it, they make it. Get seats out of anything, including newer Civics, S2000's, Integra, etc. For example: http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=1167520

Q: Which is the number 1 spark plug on my 1993 honda Civic. I have trouble starting it could it be the module?
The sparks plugs also have oil on them first time I have seen that in three changes since i've had it. Could it be that? Help anyone please. Keep buying different parts for it thinking it will solve my problem.

A: if your having trouble starting it when it sits in sun all day or after a short run then wont start it needs a f/i main relay. for oil around spark plugs change valve cover gasket and tube seals,it comes as a kit from most parts stores i dont think thats your no start problem but fix it anyway. honda tech 11yrs.

Q: is it possible to put a J32A DOHC VTEC engine in a 1993 Honda civic DX Hatchback?
i want to do an engine swap and the motor is a Acura 3.2 TL 99-00.

A: yes it is.....but your going to have to do extensive fabrication work. but it would better be suited for a tube frame drag car. if its pure power that you want....suggest taking a h23 block and installing aebs t-sleeves and stroking the motor to iether 2.4l or 2.5l. then you could install an h22a head. i suggest leaving the head as stock as you can. after all said and done...you looking at one hell of a monster of a motor. then if you want you could boost it later if you want.

Q: My 1993 honda civic has been parked for almost a two years now.?
What are the problems that could develop from being parked that long?

A: moisture in the gas. gas going bad. oil getting all sludged and breaking down. if there was any moisture anywhere...definetly some rust. most likely your rotors are all rusted...chances are your calipers could be seized. and your tires are propably all dryrotted if the vehicle has been outside just do a real nice overview of the car...change all rubber hoses. and flush and fill all fluids. put a teaspoon of oil in each cylinder by pulling the sparkplug and dumping it in there. disable fuel and spark and crank the motor and build up oil pressure too before you decide to run it after that you should be all good. let it run for a decent amount of time after the initial startup!
