Q: Does a 2008 Hyundai Accent need premium or regular gas?
Automatic transmission.
I'm just wondering before I buy one...
A: All Hyundai models run excellent with regular gas, with the exception of the Genesis Sedan/Coupe to run premium gas for a more desired performance. Both sedan and Coupe can still run regular with no problems at all. I have a buddy who drives the 07 Accent 3 door, and he has been running regular up until now. The Accent is an economy car, so you don't need premium gas.
Q: What's wrong with my speedometer in my 2008 Hyundai Accent?
We just drove with yesterday and it was working fine. Nothing felt wrong. but when we left to go out today, it wasn't moving. My dad says it could be a cable and the car's under 7 year warranty and we just got the car last year. What could have caused it to stop working and how much will it cost to fix it?
A: there are 3 potential problems:
1. Speed sensor and/or gear driven defective, located on the top of transmission;
2. Cluster meter shorted out. If this is the case, the whole cluster might need replacement;
3. I have seen in the past just a poor electrical connection on either one.
As a 2008 model, you have warranty coverage guaranteed. Take it to Hyundai dealer and have them fix it for you. It will cost you only the trip there.
Good luck
Q: 2008 Hyundai Accent--no brake lights, where do I start. The fuse is OK..?
I solved the problem, the switch on the brake pedal was sticking. I put white lube on the actuator and it is working fine..
A: stop light switch,relay.wiring fault
Q: 2008 Hyundai Accent, please give me your experiences or opinions on this car?
I'm looking at one with less than 8,000 miles on it. I should know by the afternoon if the car used to be a rental vehicle. Please don't give me any websites that give reviews for this car - I've already looked at them. I just want to hear firsthand from anyone who has this car or knows someone who has one how they feel about this car.
A: From my experience as service Manager with Hyundai Dealer since 2001, I can tell you that Accent it is the most reliable vehicle I have seen on the market. Low maintenance costs, the car with virtually no recalls, low in fuel consumption and high mileage driven
I have seen 95 Accents with over 220 miles and minimal repairs spending.
From 95 since Hyundai brought Accent to American continent, it had only 4 minor recalls and 1 major (suspension related). Compare this to any other model and you will see the difference.
Look at maintenance: do a tune-up-it will cost you up to $120. Compare with an expensive car like Toyota, Lexus, or any other one, not to mention V6 engine starting at least $250 to begin with.
Only one advise: considering is an ex-rental, get someone to check the car bumper to bumper. Just in case...
Good luck with your decision.
Q: 2008 Hyundai Accent or 2007 Dodge Stratus?
I am in need of a car and have the two cars to choose from at the moment. 2008 Hyundai Accent for $8,700 with 28,000 miles or 2007 Dodge Stratus (unknown miles as of now) for $5,000. Any suggestions based on Miles Per Gallon or how inexpensive they are to get fixed?
A: The Dodge will be a lot better for you,.
Q: trying to get engine code for 2008 hyundai accent?
im trying to figure out how i can get the engine code to display on a 2008 hyundai accent - i know some cars if you turn the key three times without starting a code appears so you can look it upa nd see why the check engine light came on- does anyone know how to do that for this car-- thank you
A: I would just visit the local parts store. Autozone will hook up a scanner and let you know what the codes are, and what they mean, for free.
Q: What is the torque rating for the tire lug nuts on a 2008 Hyundai Accent?
A: try 89 lb/ft. if memory serves me correctly. i don't have the specs right in front of me, but this should do you. if nothing else, it's the blue torque stick, if you're using an impact.
Q: 2008 Hyundai accent no radio, but it has speakers..so i'm told. I need to know..?
I need to know if a Kenwood stereo head unit will fit? THe Kenwood i am buying comes with wires & everything. Im jus making sure itll b okay to buy the kenwood if someone can hook it up for me. I want to make sure.
A: I have a 2002 Accent and it is very difficult to access the area where the stereo is mounted..check with a stereo/radio shop 1st to check on installation fees, etc
Q: 2008 Hyundai Accent Brake Issues?
My Accent has 16,000 miles and for the past few months when I start driving first thing in the morning my brakes squeal. My husband says it's "rust" but rust on brakes sounds like a bad thing to me. He doesn't seem to be concerned about it or want to take it in to be looked at but I'm worried. Anyone have any idea why they're doing this? My brakes seem to work ok except for the squealing/scraping sound.
Thanks
A: A lot of moisture gets collected over night on the brake components. Metal also changing its properties on temperature variations. All you might need (if noise is gone after a few pedal push) is to lubricate brake components. Humidity will not build up or stay on components and squealing will be gone.
Q: My 2008 Hyundai Accent Sport?
OK, strange question! You know the buttons on the doors that open the windows, lock the doors etc? Well, only the window button on the drivers side lights up at night, and not all the other ones including the passenger door. Is this the way it should be or have I blown a fuse or is something wrong?
I would like to add that the buttons never lit up, since I bought the car new. It not like they were on, and now they're off. Im just wondering if they should be on at all!!
A: yeah, that's normal... my 2009 Accent is like that
Q: is hyundai 2008/2009 accent good?
hi
I am going to buy hyundai accent 08 or 09 so I am woundering if its good or bad or what are the +ve and -ve things in this car
A: The 2009 Hyundai Accent ranks 25 out of 37 Affordable Small Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 45 published reviews and test drives of the Hyundai Accent, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.
The Accent is an undeniably good value and offers more interior space than expected for such a small car. However, both its performance and styling are unexciting.
If you can't hold off on buying a new car until the economy stabilizes, you should note that reviewers say the '09 Hyundai Accent is one of the smartest options. Practical shoppers will like the Accent's lengthy warranty, low MSRP, high gas mileage and expansive cabin. But other auto writers point out the Accent's slow acceleration, overly soft ride and drab exterior.
If the Accent's low points stand out more in your mind than its high ones, you might find the Mazda3 is more what you're looking for. The 3 definitely isn't as expensive as it looks -- and its performance is one of the sportiest of the class.
But if you're impressed with what the Accent has to offer and willing to overlook a few shortcomings, you should note the Accent now offers a variety of trims -- the GS and SE three-door hatchbacks and the GLS four-door sedan. Cruise control is now offered for 2009.
