Q: How reliable is a 2007 or 2008 Hyundai Elantra GLS/SE Sedan?
I was looking at a 2007 or 2008 Hyundai Elantra and don't quite know the reliability. I know the old Hyundai vehicles aren't the best, but have the new ones improved quality and reliability?

A: In 2003, According to Consumer Reports, Hyundai’s reliability rankings tied Hondas. http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2003-03-11-cr-picks_x.htm In 2006 JD Power and associates quality ranking, overall the Hyundai brand ranked 3rd, just behind Porsche and Lexus, and beating long time rival Toyota. http://www.autospectator.com/cars/hyundai/0024213-hyundai-highest-ranked-non-premium-nameplate-jd-power-and-associates-initial-quality The Hyundai Elantra is listed as United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Picks Ten Most Fuel Efficient Vehicles. The Elantra ranked #2 in 2006 and 2007 in the category of most fuel efficient sedans, and also was ranked as the most efficient non-hybrid mid-sized sedan. http://marketplace.nwsource.com/nwc/autos/research/fuel_economy/fuel_efficent_sedans.html Hyundai Elantra earned Consumer Reports' 'excellent' rating in predicted reliability. Hyundai Elantra SE is Consumer Reports top-ranked 2008 vehicle amongst 19 other compacts and subcompacts, beating out such high-quality competitors as the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/daily-news/080604-Hyundai-Elantra-is-Consumer-Reports-Top-Small-Car/

Q: How big is a 2008 Hyundai Elantra trunk in height and width?
Hyundai doesn't know, maybe you do.

A: Check the specifications on the car website. I personally haven't measured or know anyone who's done that.

Q: Where is the OEM amp located in my 2008 hyundai elantra?
i have the premium stereo with xm and 4 speakers. i would think that there is an external amp it claims 178 watt of power.

A: i highly doubt that there is an external amp. its most likely one big unit in your dash.

Q: Low fuel light on Hyundai Elantra 2008... how much fuel left?
How much gas is actually left in the tank when the low fuel light comes on in my 2008 Hyundai Elantra? Anyone know?

A: About 1 1/2 gal. to 2 1/2 gal. My Tibuton has 1 1/2 gal. and my Azera has 2/1/2 gal. Look in you car manual and it will tell you for your car.

Q: 2008 hyundai elantra problems?
Im thinking of purchasing a 2008 hyundai elantra and was wondering if it is a quality car.

A: I have 2 Hyundai cars and by their performance I wouldn't be afraid to buy any Hyundai car.

Q: 2007 Nissan Versa or 2008 Hyundai Elantra??
I currently own a 2007 Nissan Versa with 33,000 miles. I drive this car to the extreme! Between 3,000 - 5,000 a month.. I am looking to trade it in since it is a base model and I owe alot more than its worth. Hyundai dealer has offered me a great deal on a loaded 2008 Elantra $2,000 lower than the wholesale price and to pay me 12,000 for my car! Does anyone know if the Hyundai is a piece of crap? I have heard lots of bad things about them in the past!!

A: The Elantra is the highest rated small car by Consumer Reports, beating out the Sentra/Corolla/Civic as their best buy in the category. Hyundai's warranty is 2 yr's and 24000 miles longer then Nissan/Honda/etc bumper to bumper + 10yr/100K powertrain warranty. The Elantra gets good gas mileage like your Versa and isn't expensive to maintain. Hyundai is very well rated this decade receiving top marks for quality and reliability from Consumer Reports and JD Power. Read more at http://www.hyundai.com and http://www.edmunds.com My only concern is, will you be trading in this car at 33,000 miles too? You'll always owe more then the car is worth in that situation.

Q: where is the best area to ground my amp in a 2008 hyundai elantra trunk?

A: Anywhere you can find bare metal. Perhaps utilize an already existing bolt or screw in the framework in the trunk, under the rear window.

Q: hyundai elantra 2008 rear brake warping?
I have a 2008 hyundai elantra gls with about 17500 miles on it and about a couple weeks ago the wheel started shaking whenever i went over 65 mph. i went to the mechanic and they said that the shaking wasn't from the front tires (as i thought since i haven't rotated or balanced them since i got the car) but that the rear brakes are warped and cause my car to shake. the mechanic told me that brake warping almost never happens to cars under 30-40k mi, and that i should check it out with hyundai to see if they are defective. i was wondering if anyone else with a 2008 hyundai elantra has a similar experience, and if so how did they go about solving it? would it be likely that hyundai would replace my brakes? i'm an average driver, i've probably came to a sudden stop a couple times but i don't think anything that would cause this sort of problem. any input is greatly appreciated! :) the mechanic said that the rotors could be saved and it would only be the brake pads; however, that isn't my question. i'm wondering if i could get hyundai to replace them for free since they're warping way ahead of schedule. i've never taken my car out of the state of illinois..which is all plains.

A: Take it back to the dealership and tell them you want them to fix this POS! They should fix it under warranty.

Q: my 2008 hyundai elantra gls has the trunk opening at random.?
computer has been replaced once. what are my options?

A: If it's still under warranty(should be) take it to a dealer. Sounds like the latch isn't hooking properly.

Q: 2008 Hyundai Elantra?
I have been looking into buying a brand new 2008 Elantra. It is one of the best cars I've looked into for my price range. The inside beats any other car I've been looking into. I test drove the car & it drives well, I was impressed. I was just wondering if anyone owns one or knows anything more about this car?! It's a big decision & I'd like some input from owners or drivers?

A: Sofpan couldn't prove my point any better that people who had a bad experience 10 to 20 yrs ago with a Hyundai are carrying that over to today. I've had my Elantra for 7yrs and drove over 130,000 miles and still going strong.. This, in itself, is pretty impressive but made more so because 6 yrs and 110,000 miles ago I was in a pretty bad accident with a pick-up truck. At the time the Elantra was one of only a handful of small cars that had side air bags. That helped protect my gf in the crash. The new Elantra is better in every way to my 01' and that is saying alot. I would highly recommend the Elantra. You may get people saying dumb things like "Hyundai's are cheap crap" and such but don't let their immaturity sway you. They are just regurgitating negative rhetoric from the 90's. They have no idea how far Hyundai has come. Just to give you an idea of how good Hyundai has gotten since Sofpan's 98 Accent I'll list SOME of the awards since that time and this is just from 2007. Don't you know it's bad karma to talk badly about a car YOU STILL OWN! LOL. I apologize thinking you don't own the car anymore but WOW I'm impressed. Not with you but with the car! It's still runs even after being owned by such a negative, neglectful person. If the car was so bad why don't you get rid of it? The fact that you still own a 98 Accent and haven't owned any other Hyundai disproves any of the rhetoric you just posted. You were so worried about discrediting me you didn't realize you discredited yourself IN THE FIRST SENTENCE OF YOUR OWN RANT. LOL LOL So going by your logic ALL awards and accolades a car receives is suspect not just Hyundai’s. So that means you have to “discredit” Honda’s, Toyota’s and others to right? Or just Hyundai’s? Besides, Consumer Reports is a non-profit organization. Tell me; since you’re so knowledgeable about such things, what would THEY have to gain? Interesting conundrum you put yourself in. A little late on Hyundai resale values but your right. Demand for a USED Hyundai isn’t as great as it is for something like a used Toyota in the US but how can you expect a 20 yr old company (in the US) be as sought after as a 40 yr old company? But that is changing as well. Besides it is not bad in other parts of the world. http://www.hyundai.com.au/Resale-Value/default.aspx http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/BU0508/S00083.htm http://sify.com/fullstory.php?id=13292716 Plus one can say resale for Hyundai is overstated because you’re already paying less to begin with. But other information doesn’t mean very much compared to your vast knowledge of your 98 Accent. LOL. Lastly, again going by your logic, If we should only trust negative reviews WE SHOULDN’T BUY ANYTHING simply because nothings perfect. Someone will find fault with anything no matter how good, vis-à-vis yourself. Seriously, you and others have to face facts. Hyundai has come a long way to the point
