Q: Why is a Oil Filter for a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe cost like $10 extra when you get oil change?
More than one place has said this to me

A: Simple.... All previous Hyundai engines have been build to fit a conventional oil filter (the one you typically screwed on) and their all mounted beside the oil pump at the bottom of the engine. The new Hyundai engines have the oil filter on the top of the engine and is the "Cartridge" style with more absorbing power and better cleaning system. Also, the new filters its installed in a housing and is no way of making mistake like double the gasket and have the risk of major oil leak and ultimately leading to engine seizing. The cost of oil filter is more expensive considering the materials use to produce the product. Hyundai have subcontracted this oil filter to a specific manufacturer and have to go with their cost.

Q: What could cause my 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe to leak what appears to be water near the break/parking break area?

A: It could be the heater core....is the water leaking inside the cab? Does it smell like antifreeze? If so its almost certainly a heater core. I used to bang a girl named Ginger by the way....any chance your a hottie?

Q: Which car is better the 2007 hyundai santa fe or 2008 Chevy equinox? (why, pros, cons)?
Which car is better the 2007 hyundai santa fe or 2008 Chevy equinox? Why? pros / cons?

A: Your best bet is to check out the user reviews located off the links I've provided in my sources. The Chevy seems to be the better pic, and you're looking at the same fuel economy, except the Chevy produces more horse power than the Hyundai. Good luck, and have fun! :) Edit: Incase it helps; I own a Hyundai Excel '00 (built '99). I have no problems, it has never died and it's not about to (even after running into a truck). The engine has by-far not been a gem; gems break. This engine just keeps going, and smoothly. One thing I've found is that the quality of your car depends on how hard you are on it. Also, I find that some Hyundais are good, and some are bad, independent of the model. They've both got age; so get an expert to have a look (paid expert, get a report and all) at both cars before you buy, and do a background check.

Why? pros / cons?

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here - carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: Hyundai Santa Fe....any good?
Just wanted to hear what people think about the 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe. Any positives, negatives, things you liked and didn't about them...

A: Well Hyundai's are not my favorite car, but my mom owns a Tuscon which is the smaller version, my neighbor has a Santa Fe and my dad a Sonata . First of all, Hyundai has come a LONG way since they first started. Their warranty is GREAT and the build quality is excellent. 10 years/100k miles is unbeatable for the price. The price is even better now that the economy has gotten worse. The power is fine unless you get a 4-banger, which still is not that bad just has a low power band. The interior is good depending on the options and so forth. Look at the reviews such as on Edmunds.com for a really in depth analysis and long term road tests. Test drive and find what fits you best. Normally the sales guys at Hyundai dealers aren't that bad. Good luck with your choice.

Q: What simple things can I do to improve car performance?
I am used to having a 4 squirrel Hyundai Elantra. Now I am stepping up to a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe V6. I am wondering what I can add to the car that doesn't require advanced automotive knowledge to make it perform better? I was planning on getting a K&G filter as one thing, because I love those filters. But is there anything else I can do? Whether it is installing some devices, adding a different type of liquid into something, etc? Just any tips at all would be great. THANKS!

A: Royal purple products are shown to improve "drivability" in most cars. By the way, did you mean a K&N filter?

Q: Do FM Transmitters work well while traveling?
i travel a lot between my college and home and the drive is about 1hr and 20 min. I have a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe with the navigation system and i'm pretty sure my only option for listening to my ipod is through a fm transmitter. If i'm traveling through different cities will the transmitter still work?

A: It will work fine as long as it is not using the same, or adjacent, frequency as a station in the area.

Q: How can I ensure safety with a grill guard on my vehicle...? more info?
I am wanting to get a grill guard for my 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe. My only concern is how that will effect the safety features already on the car, mainly my airbags and their deployment. Can someone tell me the pros and cons to getting the guard, how this may interfere the airbag deployment, and if there is a way around it. Thanks. Here is the grill guard: http://www.car-stuff.com/carparts/hyundaisantafe20072007ariesars70111.html

A: Well, you are adding something to the car that the designers didn't design the car for. That being said, I'd think the airbags would still go off, but it may actually take a stronger impact to actually deploy them in a direct head on collision. Those grill guards are typically attached to the frame of the vehicle but the steel tubing used to make them will probably fold into the front end sheet metal before the frame ever gives out. Also keep in mind you are going to do more damage to other vehicles in low speed impacts with that grill guard (if your front end hits them) but your car will likely weather low speed accidents better. Unless you actually need it (utility needs) I'd avoid them. An suv does enough damage when it hits something as it is.
