Q: What is a switch condition signal trouble code for a 92 toyota ?
I finished a head job on a 92 toyota paseo and the check engine light came on, it reads trouble code 51 which is a switch condition signal. Need to know what this is.

A: No voltage to terminal A/C at the ECU with the AC on. Exact diagnostics too complicated, check your grounds. Very easy to miss one on a 'yota

Q: What are Toyota's current Interest Rates on a new 2009 vehicle?
I am looking into purchasing a new vehicle and am curious what Toyota's current Interest Rates are. Let me know if you have had a recent quote or what you rate you have received if you have purchased a new car in the last few months from Toyota. Thanks!

A: That would depend on what your credit score is, and the area you live... You can use the payment calculator available at http://www.toyotafinancial.com/consumer/tfs.portal to figure out what your rate may be through Toyota Financial Services.

Q: Will oversized tires make a toyota pickup run warm?
I own a 1994 toyota pickup truck with a body lift and oversized (30x9.50R15LT) RV tires.Could these oversized tires (by putting more stress on the engine) cause my truck to run warmer than it should?

A: If the tires were manufactured in Florida, YES !

Q: Toyota 4runner 22r what other engines can be exchanged into this?
I would like to change the engine to a newer toyota V6 engine if possible.

A: It would fit but you will need different mounts, ECU, and possibly transmission. For what a new V6 will cost, you can find a 22RTE or a small block Chevy V8 engine that will fit in it for a lot less money The V8 is probably one of the most popular swaps though. I'm not a domestic car fan, but the Chevy small block V8 is reliable enough to justify installing one.

Q: How much do mechanical engineers in Toyota Motor Europe Belgium earn monthly?
I will be interviewed next month at Toyota Motors Europe in Belgium . I am a mechanical engineer with 3 years of experience and solid automotive background knowledge. I will be asked about how much i would want as a salary. So i desperately need salary of mechanical engineers who have same qualities as mine. Thanks a lot...

A: hi i live in Belgium and have worked for Toyota for 5 years so i think i can answer your question. based on your qualities i would say you could ask for about €700 monthly. good luck on your interview.f

Q: Toyota 1989 4runner 22r what other engines can be exchanged into this?
I would like to change the engine to a newer toyota V6 engine if possible.

A: You can put practically anything in it...it's just a matter of how difficult it will be. I suppose you're looking for more power. An easy swap would be a performance-tuned 22RE from DOA racing or LC Engineering. They have v-6 power from the 4-cylinder so it's a direct swap (haha--so you only need 1 handle of Crown). http://www.doaracingengines.com/ http://www.lcengineering.com/ The 3.0 Toyota v-6 probably isn't worth the effort. It's much heavier, doesn't produce that much more power, uses quite a bit more fuel and isn't as reliable. If you want to go more complicated, the engines I've seen in Toyotas include the Toyota 3.4, the Buick 3.8, GM 4.3 (a common one), GM 283 (supercharged), and Ford 302. And I'm sure that's just a start to the list. Check with Advance Adapters...they have everything you need to swap different engines in. http://www.advanceadapters.com/ Don't go into this too lightly. It's a ton of work. Unless you pay someone else to do it. Then it's a ton of money.

Q: Where can I find good looking aftermarket tail lights for my 1995 Toyota celica?
Like I said I want some new tailights for my 1995 Toyota celica and I have not had any luck findin any and was hopeing someone else has found some. If you have please send me the link to where you got them.

A: I don't want to call you the typical Toyota owner who has to change everything to make his car look better........but.....

Q: How can I as a Toyota shareholder sue the estate of the father who killed his wife and kids in a Toyota?
When Susan Smith killed her kids in a Mazda her relatives were not able to sue the Mazda Corp. Why is it that the relatives of the the father of the San Diego County man who killed his wife and kids in a Toyota allowed to sue the Toyota Corp.? Something is not right here! I thought a criminal or their relatives were not allowed to profit from the crime? Keep safe do not drive a Ford.

A: thats why we have open courts/been in two accidents in ford focus/same focus/twice hit from rear and two cars totaled/still driving the focus at 225k miles happened at 210 and 215/keep safe drive a ford/oh by the way the focus has only bumper scratches on it/touch up paint is 5 bucks

Q: How could I raise my 92 toyota pickup cheaply?
I have a 92 toyota pickup with stock tires, shocks, and body kit. It looks kind of lame being so low. So, I am trying to find the best way to raise it to a good height. Would replacing the shocks with bigger ones give me space to put on bigger tires?

A: Unfortunately it's not as simple as replacing the shocks to add lift. Just keep in mind with bigger tires fuel mileage will drop and you may need to change the gear ratio. This company has a 3.5" suspension kit with shocks that allows clearance for 30" tires. The cost is about $839 minus installation. http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lift-Kits-Suspensions-Shocks/3-5-in-Performance-System-with-Performance-Shocks.aspx?t_c=1&t_s=38&t_pt=5491&t_pl=1906&t_pn=FABKIT614 The cheaper alternative is a body lift which raises the body off the frame with spacers and it can be used with stock shocks. It's price is about $131 minus installation and can be found here: http://www.car-stuff.com/toyotaliftkit.htm

Q: Why the recall motivated me even more to purchase toyota avalon. did i do right thing?
since government kept hammering Toyota after bailing out GM i felt they are jealous of toyota cars and so i purchased 2010 avalon. is that good choice?

A: yeah it's tragic what has happened but I trust Toyota more than any to fix the problem and never let it happen again and I know they would have sooner if they'd known, more bad luck than bad manufacturing, they do make an effort to build reliable cars, although boring.

Q: Will a 91 Toyota transmission work in an 88 toyota truck?
I have an 88 Toyota Truck 4x4 5 speed. I found a transmission out of a 91 4x4 5 speed. Can these be swapped? What about the cross member, splines, and drive lines. Will these need to be switched or will they work as well.

A: as long as both engines are the 22 r they should work i had one and we switched it,and it was supposed to be a 91 model transmission, it was bought from a salvage yard and they couldn't really verify what year it was from ,but it was marked a 91 and it did work well, good luck with it.

Q: Are warranties by Toyota Dealerships on parts and labor transferable?
I had a timing belt and water pump installed at one toyota dealership, and now I have a problem with this a year later. I dont want to have it worked on now at the other dealer , but want it done at another dealer. will the warranty be transferable to this other toyota dealership? They are independantly owned. Okay, but the thing is this vehicle is a 93. IT is way past its warranty for the vehicle. what I am talking about is seperate work done a year ago. Is this work and the part going to be transferable?

A: You can take it to any Toyota dealers :o)

Q: What is the price of new toyota fortuner in AED?
I am planning to buy a toyota fortuner. I am getting a 2007 model in 88000 AED. Should I go for it?

A: damn stright

Q: Can a mechanic convert the annoying solid axle in a Toyota to an independant rear suspension?
The issue is that Toyota corollas and the Matrix both use the unibar or solid axle in the rear, which creates a very jerky, bumpy, unpleasant ride. Toyota says it changed to the solid axle to keep the cost of these models low. Dumb choice! I don't want to buy a new Corolla if i have to deal with this cheapo axle-- it ruins the ride. But I am wondering if I can buy a Corolla with the intention of having a mechanic simply replacing it with the superior independant rear suspension, or if this will be too difficult and/or costly.

A: Yes, anything can be done. And, yes, it would be EXTREMELY expensive. I'm afraid your stuck with it.

Q: I'm torn between buying a Toyota or a GM, should I bother with GM now with bankruptcy looming?
I'm planning to purchase either a Toyota Highlander or a GMC Acadia in July. I love the Acadia but only like the Highlander. In light of the news that bankruptcy is imminent with GM should I even consider buying an Acadia? I'm worried that GM will shut down its GMC line of cars thus making it harder to resell or repair the Acadia at a later date. Any thoughts?

A: GMC vehicles are troublesome. Toyotas are dependable. I've had two GMCs and they have had to go to the shop so many times for all kinds of lack-of-quality related issues I have lost count. I've driven my Toyotas more or less trouble-free, besides routine maintenance. Look deep within and decide for yourself if you only want the biggest thing on the road, or do you want to enjoy being on the road.
