Q: Can i fit a Mark 4 VW Golf Steering Wheel (3 Spoke Leather) on a 2006 VW polo?
If yes will the Air bag work on the polo

A: Anything is possible. The airbag probably will work since it's all VW.

Q: my vw golf 2006 gti 2ltr turbo has a hesitation or slight stutter when sitting at a steady speed any ideas ?

A: it could be the turbo lag, Volkswagen is famous for their turbo lag. But you should probably get it checked at your local dealer.

Q: My VW Citi Golf 1 2006 is overheating?
My VW Citi Golf 1 2006 is overheating, yesterday I drove 1km and slowly open the water pump, the water looks like it was boiling and coming out of the water pump, may you kindly assist as I need to find out the problem so I can get a car fix.

A: Thermostat would be my first line of inquiry. Not an uncommon problem, but not all that pricey or difficult to replace

Q: I have a vw golf mk5 1.4 2006. What are the best brake pads to get for it.?
I want decent quality ones and and rough prices please if poss. Cheers

A: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Golf_1.6_2007/p/Car-Parts/Brakes/Brake-Friction/Brake-Pads There is a selection there. I'd probably go with ATE.

Q: What is reasonable mileage for a 2003 VW Golf?
I'm look at a used 2003 VW Golf that has a little over 74,000 miles on it (very good condition). Is that good? What are acceptable mileages for VW vehicles between 2000 and 2006?

A: Most people drive between 12-15,000 miles per year. I've been in the car business a long time and I can tell you from experience that 12,000 is a good target for you to aim at when it comes to miles per year. Anything over 15,000 miles per year is a cause for concern. So to answer your particular question 74,000 miles for a 7 year old vehicle is not bad. Hope this helps.

Q: How do you remove the rear badges from Mk 5 Golf 2.0 TDI?
I've got a 2006 VW Golf 2.0 TDI Sport, and would like to remove the 'Golf' and '2.0 TDI' badges on the hatch. Can anyone suggest the best way to do this? Something tells me that Andre doesn't like VW !! vavavoom - thanks for your answer.

A: Lol @ the first answer, as I can only assume it's a joke. Heat the badges up with a hair dryer for about 5 minutes. This will soften the sticky tape behind them. Then just pull them off. Wipe any residue away with a cloth.

Q: Oil light in my VW Golf Diesel?
My OH just got her comapny car, its 2006 1.9D VW Golf. After picking it up from London, on her way back to York the oil light came on. When she got home I did the obvious basic checks to make sure the car had oil using the dipstick, but the problem is the dipstick has no min or max level markers on it, is a plain metal stick. It does have some oil on it, but without the level markers there is no way to be sure if its low or not. Is this normal for Golfs? I dont fancy her having to drive it all the way back to London (4 to 5 hour drive) if its A. Gong to break down B. A simple fix Any ideas people. Thanks akuma

A: The bottom part of the dipstick has either a criss cross section or a light fold in two places/ The oil should be at the top mark of whichever method it has.As far as I am aware, there is a buzzer which sounds if your oil pressure were to drop whilst driving. Are you sure that the warning light is the oil light and not something like a pad wear indicator, low coolant or glow plug light. If it is low oil pressure, as opposed to just a low "quantity" of oil, you should not drive it at all.

Q: car trouble after installing sound system?
URGENT i have a 2006 vw golf gls. i just installed some speakers and an amplifer to my car. when i go to start it, the engine runs rough and shakes. if i let it idle, it will die within a few seconds with the smell of gas, possibly from the exhaust. the malfunction indicator light comes on as well. what could be some problems? i did not touch any other wires or mess with anything but the battery. could it be that i left the negative terminal off too long? thanks a ton

A: Try tightening your battery that should fix the problem rookie...

Q: What are a VW Golf's speakers like? ?
whats the bass like? can you play loud music? (im talking about the 2006+ models)

A: well ... mst of the default audios tht u get in the cars r quite standard .... the models u r talking abut .. i think do come with a subwoofer unlike many other default audio system .... but if really sweet music of ur choice played at exactly the right volume and base .... than i strogly suggest tht u think abut installing a customized audio.

Q: Does switching the type of diesel injector fluid from VW's to a generic brand void the warranty with VW?
I have a 2006 Golf TDI and was wondering if I could do this. It's more expensive then the generic but if there are going to be problems I'd like to know Thanks

A: There is a law (in the U.S. anyways, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act), that states that a manufacturer cannot 'tie-in' the use of their products to avoid voiding the warranty. If there is a compatible product out there that meets VW's specifications, they have to honor the warranty if you use it. If, however, the aftermarket product does not meet the specifications stated by VW, they can declare the warranty void, so double-check with the manufacturer of the generic.
